well, when you have 4 outfielders and are paying 3 of them huge sums of money, and one of them isnt 100 percent yet, then I think it makes it a no brainer. Dont forget, Kershaw is an FA next year and they still wanna sign tanaka

Actually 5. They have Joc Pederson that's supposed to be ready

His past 3 seasons combined he only has 40 doubles give or take a few. He's never really been a power hitter. He found ways to get on base in his prime, but I think that phase of his career is over

The Rangers have interest in starting pitcher Bartolo Colon, Jeff Wilson of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram writes. Colon would provide the Rangers with a backup plan in case Matt Harrison isn't ready to come back from injuries that limited him to two big-league starts in 2013. If Harrison is healthy, Colon would likely bump Alexi Ogando to the bullpen.

Colon will be 41 shortly after the start of the 2014 season, so he could very well be available to the Rangers on a one-year basis. Wilson notes that a one-year deal would be attractive for the Rangers, who might have Luke Jackson or other prospects knocking on the door by 2015. Colon posted a 2.65 ERA with 5.5 K/9 and 1.4 BB/9 in 190 1/3 innings with the Athletics last season.



.....I was joking about this the other day. We can't be serious, anyway, from what I've read and seen, he needs a big ballpark and a good defense behind him to be successful...ok, we have the defense..

I completely get why LAD wants to rid themselves of Kemps contract.

Of course LA wants to get rid of him, and maybe for several reasons. One of which is perhaps he's damaged goods.

I really don't understand how or why we would be interested in him. Doesn't a player have to pass a physical in order to seal the deal? He won't be able to do that for months, so this whole conversation - from the Ranger point of view - is making little to no sense to me.
