IF we do sign Colon, can you even imagine the concessions culinary creation they would create in honor of him? We lose the Murph-a-dilla and we gain the Colon Clogger, an 8-pound burger topped with a burrito, nacho cheese, fried onions, on an extra large donut.

That sounds pretty good

Rakuten Golden Eagles president Yozo Tachibana is undecided on whether to post star pitcher Masahiro Tanaka, FOX Sports' Ken Rosenthal reports. Tachibana adds that he is "disappointed" with baseball's new posting system, and says that he'll speak with Tanaka last week, according to the Los Angeles Times' Bill Shaikin

I'm assuming he meant next week.

According to Rosenthal, the Trumbo trade takes the DBacks out of the Choo sweepstakes. But speculation is they were never really in it to begin with and only floated that interest out there to pressure the Angels into making the deal with them. So it would appear (key word: appear) that it's down to Seattle's money whipping versus our appeal to him from a competitive/area preference standpoint. Choo is an awfully good player, even with his splits and average glove, so I really wish he would take less and JD would offer more to get it done.

lol my friend totally called this. The d backs were always distant lurkers in the choo market

Kevin Towers is the reverse JD. Nothing but white guys on his team.

We've internally discussed bringing johan santana in for a two year, cheap, incentive laden contract. Most of the scouts are not on board for it. They feel like he can serve as a mentor to martin perez. They are both venezuelan, and many, many early scouting reports compared perez to santana

So wouldn't they be on board with it if he can serve as a mentor?

I didnt ask, but I'm assuming the scouts that aren't on board with it want performance, and with johan santana thats one thing you arent likely to get due to his health.

Oh I see what you're saying refugee. No I made my post more confusing then it should have been. The scouts that dont want to bring him in dont want him period. But the minority of scouts that want him have brought up the mentoring thing. I shouldve separated the paragraphs or something lol
