Listening to MLB guys Texas has lots of interest in Kemp Choo Cruz and Tanaka. Hopefully we can squeeze one of them in. They think Choo deal will be settled soon.

No it doesn't. We would have Odor, Choice, Profar, Martin, Moreland, and Soto all in the line-up. it doesn't matter how good your front 2 are with that line-up.

We'd have an excellent starting staff, no doubt. It wouldn't be just 2 either.

But Lord, you're right about "where are the RBIs coming from?"

Although I must say, there's a lot of folks here I think who are selling Martin and Profar short on what they can accomplish offensively this season. And it wouldn't surprise me to see Mitch and Soto have decent years too.

Hey, it's almost Christmas. Have a little faith, eh?

I doubt it ends up being us. Definitely not getting my hopes up. We are always one of the last teams, then we don't close because of the price. He will be too expensive anyways. That would be cool if JD swings Choo and Kemp though.
So then your OF is Choo LF, Kemp CF, and Rios RF? That's dumb dude, with Martin's gun and having invested in Choice now. One or the other, sure, but that's an expensive OF for not much power and not stellar defense.

Per TR Sullivan's blog.

Winter Meetings: Daniels talks
Rangers general manager Jon Daniels met with the DFW media tonight. Among the topics…

1. He has met with agent Adam Katz about Nelson Cruz. Discussions are on-going. There are no plans to meet again but Daniels expects they will continue to talk.

2. Rangers are not looking for a closer and feel good about their candidates to fill the role: Neftali Feliz, Tanner Scheppers and Joakim Soria

3. Daniels said the Rangers haven’t spent much time looking for pitching

4. Rangers could be in the market for a right-handed hitting complement to Mitch Moreland at designated hitter.

5. The Rangers had interest in Roy Halladay before he decided to retire.

Ya know, JD makes the right trade - don't know what this means - and bamb, we're happy as larks, and Choo who?

I've always been a big Mitch supporter, but that's a lot of unknown. Jd knows this. Choice will get his chance but he's our 4th OFer, hopefully. Soto might give us 15-20 this year.

We said that about Mitch last year and he was a disappointment. He was terrible with RISP. Most of his RBIs seem to come when the game was no longer in doubt. Just not a clutch hitter. Martin we will have to wait and see but I think you may be right about Profar now that he gets to play an everyday position.

I am absolutely baseball paralyzed thinking about Kemp coming here.

If it works, wow, JD is my hero. But if it doesn't......hmmmmm.

Sign Morales or Cruz to DH... Have to get at least 1 more bat before market dries up like last year.

Nice thing about Cruz and Tanaka it is just money and no loss of a player and with Choo it is the loss of a 1st round pick but no other players. I like addition without subtraction. We have the money.

Yeah, I don't know why I keep my piggy bank in Mitch's account, but I do.

It seemed to me, Martin really had an eye-opening season, and will thrive for the future. Same for Profar.

Jurickson will be a leader on this team too, in spite of his lack of years.

If you sign Choo then you're probably letting Cruz walk, and the picks equal out.

I agree 100%. Go ahead and lock up Cruz and that way you at least have an OF/DH.

Cruz will not sign to DH for anyone. He wants to play and I don't blame him

Sign Cruz to play LF, and keep Moreland to spell him in LF and skillet man at 1st, and this may be better than we think.
