I wonder if we could still be trying to acquire Upton?

David O' Brian tweeted his skepticism of the Braves' reported interest in Raul Ibanez citing his age (41) and lack of available at-bats (if Atlanta's corner outfielders are healthy).

How does that have any signs of uptown being talked about? I think terps said we called the braves

I would like to have EE, Kemp, Braun, CarGo, Bautista, Cruz, Morales, or anyone else that upgrades this below average offense. I'm getting a strong feeling that if it's not a LAD OFer that JD will go into next year hoping the young guys step up. He might pick up a cheap DH and go with Choice in LF. If this is the case then I'm not sure I will back JD anymore.

If this happens, I'd be losing a lot of confidence in JD. Our big downfall last year was trying to replace the loss of young, Hamilton, and Napoli internally. We asked guys like Moreland, Murphy, and AJ to "step up" and they failed miserably. Are the rangers really going to have the same offseason plan 2 years in a row? Makes me think of the mavericks and Cuban trying to land the " big fish" and settling for scraps.

Gah a lot of these talks about stuff make me glad I am not in any position of power. I would spend most days pissed off at my coworkers for crazy ideas.

I'm saying when Gardner was at his best

Is he not at his best now? Why would you want him if he's not?

I like him as a player, and he does get on base, but I don't see how he is an upgrade over keeping Gentry. I guess I would just like more power in the OF.

Gentry's career OBP is better, not just a single year.

Gentry's OBP is actually better. What else you got?

Not to mention a better arm. Funny thing is Ichiro has about the same stats as Gardner, less OBP but Ks half as much as Gardner and 10 years older. The guy is hanging in there and still has a good arm. Not sure what Gardner's salary will be this year as it was 2.875 mill last year and Ichiro's is 6.5 mill. Not saying we should go for either just comparing since the Yankees would be willing to get rid of either one.

You have to pay more than minimum wage.
