@Rev - I know we have talked about JoeyBats, and EE before and I really like your plan of acquiring one along with Tanaka. I think it helps that the organization is already big in Japan and the team helped Yu adapt. My only question with trading for EE is: where do you have him playing? He would have to be the DH. So you're planning on starting Choice in that scenario?

Hey Terps. Will you have any insight on the winter meetings when your friend is not attending?

How does signing Jose Contreras to a minor league deal affect our plans at all in any way is my question for you guys

No gloom and doom from my standpoint but like we did with Derek Lowe last year, I would just rather see a young player get a chance to make the team out of ST than a 42 year old

I know the question want directed at me, but that's how is play it. With encarnacion we can afford to stick with our current outfield.

I was thinking the same, but I think we would want a back-up plan like Mclouth in the OF in case Choice struggles. I guess in that scenario we would still have Moreland who could play LF. I honestly think Bautista makes more sense, but EE is the better hitter.

Did you all see this? 6:45pm: The Mariners are "about to offer" Cano a nine-year, $225MM deal, CBS Sports' Jon Heyman reports. Heyman indicates that Seattle is bidding $225MM to stay $50MM ahead of the Yankees, whose don't want to top $175MM.

That should do it or the Yanks will fold and sign him.

I should know some information as I'm sure he'll be communicating with his co workers somehow. But, sorta like last year's meetings, it won't be very specific because hes just getting info by text not by word of mouth. Still though, I should get info on who we meet with and who we talk trades with.

I just can't see him going there. I think he only accepts that if no other team gets close. That deal will screw them because he does not make them contenders.

I just don't get the length of these contracts. 9 years is ridiculous risk.

Well, good. Keep an eye on LAD. There may be something there.

I know it's still early. However, I'm still concerned about RBIs. A good portion of the lineup is potential. What's the status of Cruz? Any chance he will sign with the Rangers, or is he gone? I have faith these young guys are going to come through and truly be good, but still think we are going to need more runs.

At 9/225, nobody is getting close to that.
