So Detroit needs a first baseman. What about Moreland + for Tuisasopo?

Wouldn't Miggy just move on over to 1B?

They can finally move Miggy to first
Instant national reaction split on Rangers' trade for Prince Fielder: 'Getting (Fielder) a steal'; 'just don't get this deal for (Texas)' | Dallas Morning News
As soon as the reports came out that the Rangers had traded Ian Kinsler to the Tigers for Prince Fielder national analysts took to Twitter and their website to provide reaction. Here is some of what they had to say:
Yahoo's Jeff Passan: "Prince Fielder is 29 years old. If he were a free agent this year, he may demand as much as Robinson Cano. Getting him for 7/138 is a steal."
ESPN's Jim Bowden: "Rangers get better player in Prince Fielder and the middle of the order impact bat they've needed Jurrickson Profar takes over 2B. ... What's next for Rangers? 1. Move Profar to 2B 2. Pursue McCann 3. Pursue corner OFer/DH (Cruz,Choo,Beltran)"
ESPN's Buster Olney: "For a team aiming to take that next step of winning the WS--losing the WS in '10 and '11 -- just don't get this deal for (Texas). Love it for (Detroit)."
Fox Sport's Jon Morosi: "Tigers fans were down on Fielder at end of season, but they will miss his bat. Large part of motivation is trade could help keep Max (Scherzer). Kinsler is another option to lead off. This allows Tigers to play Martinez or Cabrera at 1B, more options for Castellanos, overall flexibility. (The) Rangers, meanwhile, get a possible 40- or 45-homer bat in that ballpark and cure to their offensive woes. Like it for both teams."
USA TODAY'S Bob Nightengale: "Certainly, it takes Napoli out of the marketplace for the Rangers, who still would like to add Brian McCann."
Sporting News' Jesse Spector: "Both teams, in some ways, deal from a surplus in order to address needs. The trade leaves Texas with fewer loose ends to tie up, because of Profar’s emergence, while the Tigers still have to sort things out at the hot corner."
Grantland.com's Rany Jazayerli: "This is a VERY preliminary take, but I think I like this for Detroit. Forget the playoffs-Prince hit .279/.362/.457 all season long. He can't run, can't play defense, he's overweight and he's 30 in May. There's a LOT of downside risk on the rest of his contract. Even eating $30M, the Tigers save $81M in the trade. That's more valuable than 3 years of Prince at ages 34-36. Basically, Texas is betting 2013 was a bad year and not the start of a decline for Prince. If they're right, they win. If not, they lose. ... To be clear: I think this favors Detroit overall, but Texas may be ahead slightly for a year or two. And they had to trade a middle IF."
If we still had olt....
Not even close. Fielder isn't a mental midget.
I'm not worried about Fielder and a down season, if any worries, might be how he holds up in the heat.
Fielder went through a divorce, young kids....I think it was ugly, and probably affected him.
How long is Fielder's contract? why am I missing that....think I'm just exhausted

Cash payments from Detroit will be paid out in 2016-20, so no extra money for #Rangers up front.
Final numbers will be 7/138 I believe. That's after Detroit sends us 30 million.

Problem is, you better have Cano ask but sown up or that will kill you when you go looking for a MIF to replace whichever of those two you traded.
