Despicable human being aside, I think Sterling has dementia and his family needs to save him from himself.

The fella definitely has a screw loose.

I hope Scott is the right guy for your Lakers. I'm sure you'd rather forget about their previous two HC's though.

I hope he gets a fair shake.

He inherited a shit roster.

But, with his Laker pedigree, I hope he has a long leash.

Sacre and Boozer are just GAWD AWFUL.

Nobody could win with those guys.

Next year they will sign some players.

Based on she sheer number of decent players available this summer, they should get at least 2.

The trick is not getting the Amare and Round-shoulders-Ray Felton of the bunch:lol:.

heartbreaker Saturday night... stupid foul with 3 seconds left...

It's a learning process...baby steps.

I hope you keep Thad and Dieng looks like a player.

Even that damn Bennett is making strides.

I hope Flip doesn't glue Lavine's ass to the bench all year.

I know he doesn't like playing the young thundercats.

But, Wiggins, Lavine, Robinson, Dieng are the best athletes on the Team!!!

I think so too.

The trick was to get a credible guy in there that Kobe would respect.

They did that.

I think Byron will be given at least 3 years and probably closer to 5 years to show what he can do. The FO has been talking about a 3 year plan to get the team back in contention. I think Byron will get the 3 years while the FO attempts to put together a contending roster plus an additional 2 to try and deliver a title with that roster.

As for Doc, I'm not prepared to call him overrated, but I wouldn't necessarily call him a great coach either. He has the Clips winning more than any other coach they've ever had, but he also has more top players to work with than any Clippers coach has ever had.

Yet he hasn't gotten them past the 2nd round. I'm curious as to how patient Ballmer is going to be with him.

Byron kind of took Kobe under his wing when Kobe was a rookie. He also used to make Kobe get him donuts, etc. I doubt it happened, but I think it would have been hilarious if when Kobe walked in for his first practice under Byron, he was greeted with "Where are my donuts, rook?"

Flip isn't Adelman. Lavine will play, but Flip believes they'll learn more in winning and creating a culture for these kids (also - Flip is still pushing for the playoffs this year). I wouldn't be surprised to see Wiggins not starting once these early injuries work themselves out. But as for Lavine, Flip made no bones about it... he was going to be a work in progress and was drafted simply because of his raw athleticism.

Dieng is looking great. And I hear ya about Thad - hate to see him bolt.

Funny that Bennett is making strides now... good mix to grow with.

Yep. Although I'm waiting for Kobe to throw Byron under the bus after 30 or so games. The Zen Master is the only HC Kobe has ever had any respect for. Hey just think what the Lakers might have been able to do this off season if Kobe didn't have that absurd contract. What's he making this year...about 24m?

I'm not sure how patient Ballmer will be.

But, that 50mil extension he gave Doc tells me they are on the same page.

I think Doc is a happy medium. He is not the top X's and O's guys. But, he's a players Coach.

As far as him not getting them past the 2nd round, you are judging him by Laker standards.

I'm probably being to lenient because I am judging him by Clipper standards.

Again, happy medium.

Blake became a top player last Season. But, yeah....

It's put up or shut up time, especially for CP3...

Unfortunately....the Spurs still exist and the Warriors appear to be better.

So...i guess it's shut up time for another year:noidea:.

I like your roster.

I know folks are down on Martin.

But, he can still get buckets.

If the playoffs don't look possible at the deadline, think they would consider trading Pek?

I'd take Brewer for the Clips without a second thought.

I can't live with Barnes and no backup:omg:

Yeah...I don't believe that either:lol:.

Kobe seems to be in a good place, mentally, so far.

He's saying all the right things and you know he wouldn't be doing that if he didn't mean it.

My only vice with Byron is that damn Sacre:lol:.

I hate ya'll.

But, even I feel pain at seeing all his mental errors.

Boozer:scratch:?

How could he have regressed so fast?

Free Ed Davis!!!

hmmm.... 2 things... I love Pek. I can't see how they'd replace him without going further back (we are without a first round draft pick this year); and, I don't know what the market would be for him at his salary.

as for Brewer? I don't know that trading him is going to help, either.

I agree that giving him that extension definitely shows that they are on the same page and the Doc will be given a fair shot. The question, in my mind, is what does Ballmer consider a "fair shot"? The man paid about 3 times the actual value of the team, has a very talented roster with a good mix of young guys and vets.

I understand your point about me judging by Lakers standards and you by Clippers standards, but what are Ballmer's standards? He's not part of the Clippers past, nor the Lakers.

Just for sake of argument, suppose 3 years from now, the Clippers still have a very talented roster, but still haven't reached the finals? Does Ballmer start looking at the coach? The Clippers kind of remind of where the Lakers were just before they brought in Phil Jackson. A very talented roster that couldn't get past the 2nd round.

I like Sacre and his energy, but yeah, he seems to be making a lot of mental errors. I don't know if he's just slow picking up Byron's system or what. Unfortunately, with Randle out, that's likely to mean more playing time for him because Davis (who I really like) now has to back up both the Center and PF spots.

Not sure what the issue is with Boozer. He played well in the first game and actually gave the exact type of production I was hoping for. However, in the past 3 games he has fluctuated between terrible and having no impact.

Maybe he's just learning a new system, coach and teammates and will pick up his play as the season progresses and maybe not. Either way, he's an expiring contract and the Lakers got him on the cheap. If he turns things around and the Lakers start seeing production closer to when he was with the Jazz, he'll likely be back. If not, he won't. Doesn't really matter because it's not like the Lakers were expecting him to be a difference maker on a contending team .
