Well, another Tigers season has ended after losing in OT to Calgary last night. Next season, Medicine Hat starts play in a spanky new arena, but I'm certainly going to miss the old barn (saw plenty of games with the old man in that rink).

Crazy series between the Baie Comeau Drakkar (Longship?) and the Val D'Or Foreurs (Miners?)

Because of the distance it was a 2-3-2 series with home ice going to VD.

BC wins the 1st 2 on the road and then win their 1st home game to take a 3-0 series lead.

VD wins the next 2 on the road to go back home down 3-2, then win game 6 at home to set up a game 7.

VD trails 3-1 after 2 but tie it up in the 3rd and then win 4-3 in OT to complete the comeback.

Apparently there was no post-series handshake after this game. 1 of the VD players was taunting the BC bench. I can imagine that didn't go over too well with a team that just blew a 3-0 series lead and a 3-1 lead in game 7 after 2. I'm not sure exactly how it unfolded but it sounds like both teams were on ice chirping at each other and then the refs sent the losers off the ice.

Back in the late 90s (96-97, had to look it up), there was a PO series between Oshawa and Peterborough. Now those two franchises dont need an excuse to get the hate on, but this series was particularly vicious. Final game was in PBO and OSH won. The OSH coach at the time (Bill Stewart) pulled his team and sent them to the room when the game was over. He and the team were fined over it.

Michael Dal Colle was named OHL player of the week with 2 goals & 5 assists. Leading the Oshawa Generals to a 4 games to 1 victory over the Niagara Ice Dogs.

Vancouver Canucks prospect Cole Cassels finished 2nd in the voting. Cassels recorded 2 goals & 4 assists.

I hipe they keep it up. If they can get by North Bay, they could be facing Saint Connor in the OHL Finals.

A lotta hockey to be played before that can happen, but I would love to see it.

I'd like to see how Dal Colle can do against Erie in a series. I don't know if he's going to be on the 1st line with the Isles next year or not, but it's definitely a possibility. They might not want to rush him though.

Here's a video from RDS (French TSN for those that don't know):

Les Foreurs compltent la remonte | Vido | RDS.ca

What's not seen in this video is that on the scoreboard they were playing some video to rub salt in the visiting team's wound. Not exactly sure what was shown but I read that it was pretty classless. That's why you see some of the players pointing up. Some douche bag fans were classy enough to point it out to the players as well. Some also threw garbage at the visitors as they left the ice, instead of simply celebrating their own teams win. Not the fault of the player's on the home team but I'm sure it added to the emotion of such an agonizing defeat. Also you can see #24 (maybe more, I didn't watch that closely) on the winning team taunt the losers.

I don't see much of these teams but after each made their 1 and only visit during the regular season, I remember thinking they were the 2 dirtiest teams in the league by far. That's not me being a homer because I would much rather say that about 1 of my team's division rivals from the Maritimes.

Well the Memorial Cup host Quebec Remparts are in the Q finals, meaning whoever they face in the finals will automatically join them at the Memorial Cup regardless of who wins the Q. The Remparts swept the Moncton Wildcats with a 7-0 victory tonight. In the other semi, Rimouski took a 3-0 lead over Val D'Or, so it's definitely looking like Rimouski will be the 2nd QMJHL team at the Memorial Cup.

Dal Colle with 1G 1A as Oshawa wins Game 4 by the score of 3-2. The Series is now tied 2-2 headed back to Oshawa.

McDavid & Company play tonight.

DalColle is not having a good series. First points in Game 4 for him, team in total only had 16 shots in Game 3. For a team that was so dominant in the regular season, this is perplexing.

Oh well, at least it is now a Best of 3 and OSH has 2 home games. As always, Game 5 is key.

WHL Championship final is all set and it is no surprise as Brandon will face Kelowna. I'm rooting for the Kings of Wheat.

Dal Colle had 1 assist in Games 5 & 6 giving him 2 more points. Did he have a good series? I'd say he was okay. How he produces in the Finals is what matters. The winner goes to the Memorial Cup.
