The Western Hockey League's Vancouver Giants and head coach Claude Noel mutually parted ways Wednesday. Noel has been with the junior club since late November and posted a 17-23-2-2 record during his time in Vancouver. The search for a new coach will begin immediately.

After about a kazillion weeks ranked #1 in the CHL, the mighty Oshawa Generals were cheated by the obviously biased selection committee and dropped to #3.

Thats OK though, a little motiviation for the boys.

North Bay lays the boots to Kingston 8-0
Oshawa 7-2 over Peterborough (Cole Cassels - 3 assists)

Brandon 8-1 over Edmonton (it's never tough to watch Edm lose)
Victoria 5-3 over PG (3G 1A from Brandon McGee)
Kelowna 6-0 over Tri-Cities

Tigers move on to round 2 of the WHL playoffs with a 4-3 win tonight and take the series against Red Deer 4-1. They await the winner of Calgary and Kootenay who are playing a 7th and deciding gane in their series on Monday night.

Victoria saves themselves 26 hours of bus travel by beating Prince George in OT last night. Their reward in round 2 is the top-ranked Kelowna Rockets.

OHL Playoffs are moving right along. Soo and Erie both advanced 4-0. Saint Connor now waits until Thursday to show what he can do against a good OHL team.

North Bay has Barrie on the ropes, with the winner (probably) facing Oshawa.
