Um, come on Tigers, losing one game to Lethbridge is bad enough, but getting handed a weekend sweep is dreadful.

A bizarre/interesting scenario unfolded last night in the Sea Dogs loss to the Olympiques.

The Sea Dogs were assessed a minor penalty. About 30 seconds into the PK, they scored what appeared to be a short-handed goal to tie the game at 2. It was initially ruled no goal and play continued. The Sea Dogs killed off the remaining 1:30 of the penalty before a whistle was blown. The next whistle eventually happened several minutes later when the Sea Dogs took another minor penalty. At that point, they reviewed the goal, and it was in fact called a good goal. So naturally they wind the clock back to when the goal was scored and therefore wind the time back on the initial penalty. But the minor penalty that occurred after the goal went in still stood as per the rules, and it became effective the same time of the goal. So even though it didn't happen until several minutes after the 1st penalty had been killed off in the alternate universe where the goal wasn't good, it resulted in a 5 on 3 PP for Gatineau which they ended up scoring on to retake the lead and never looked back.

Definitely not a scenario you are likely to see happen too often.

The Tigers may have righted the ship with back-to-back wins after a dreadful stretch which saw them win only 3 of 15 games and they have given up the division lead to the Calgary Hitmen. They have clinched a playoff berth, so at least they have that going for them, which is nice.

Should also be noted that the Hitmen have been scorching of late and beat the Rockets in Kelowna last night.

For those who have been keeping an eye on this story, looks like it will no longer be an issue. Still not finalized yet, but I can't see this not passing.

State Senate votes to give labor law exemption to Western Hockey League teams | Q13 FOX News

yah I saw Chris Daniels tweet that yesterday. Good news for wash st dub fans. Daniels had said the dub and the 4 wast st franchises had said they would immediately move the 4 franchises if this exemption wasnt granted

Id like to think theyre fans of WHL hockey in Olympia but its probably more about pro business/anti union lol

Looks like it's going down to the wire for the Central Division crown between Calgary and Medicine Hat. Should be an exciting last 10 games of the regular season.

Thanks for the update, John. Just curious if there's anything along the same lines going on in Oregon with the Portland Winterhawks?

I haven't heard of any issues with the Winterhawks. They may already be exempt from labor laws, I don't know. If it ever becomes an issue though, I'd imagine the law will be amended just like it's going to be in Washington.

final day of the OHL season today (McDavid got the day off, for some reason)

Ryan Strome gets 6 points (4G 2A) to win the OHL scoring title
and set the Erie Otters points record at 129

setting up for a hell of a draft class
Strome Marner McDavid 1,2,3 in the OHL scoring, all draft eligible.
Add in Eichel, Crouse, Hanfin, Barzal, man oh man.

So I guess the question is whom will the Oilers end up ruining?

Well done, Oliver. He was 3 the last time someone scored more than a GPG in the WHL.
