lol - Nice to see Cornish back in the field yesterday (with the tinted visor). I wonder if bright lights are causing him issues and if it will be a permanent change going forward.

I had not made that connection , but you are likely correct. At this stage every extra bit of protection he gives his head the better.

Defensive tackle Linden Gaydosh and defensive end Alex Hall have been released by the Carolina Panthers. Hey Wally, is it time to send Khalif Mitchell packing?

/Stamps could use an extra body with Micah Johnson gone for the season.

Also, Weston Dressler has been cut by the Chefs (great googly moogly) and it's not a shoo-in that he will go back to Regina...

gary lawless‏@garylawless1m

word on street is #redblacks could go as high as 250 k for Dressler. #riders don't have that cap room. if this is about cash - he could move

The RedBlacks need him badly.

only in the cfl ???

Arash Madani ‏@ArashMadani 19s

If the #Ticats play Tuesday at Rogers Centre, then move into Tim Horton's Field, it will be six different "home" stadiums in two years. #CFL

That construction of Tim Horton's Field has been about as fast as Andy Fantuz running a route...

so it is very possible the 5th place team in the west will have a better record than all the teams in the east and still not make the playoffs? (not that BC deserves it by any means)

Possibly, but there hasn't been a lot of divisional play yet this season (predominately East - West games), thus the second half of the season will allow East division teams to start collecting some wins.

Im assuming the injury to Glenn with BC gives them the balls finally to put Lulay back at starting position. They have half a season left to find consistency (something I've never seen with this coaching staff) to host a grey cup.

not that it matters I still dont think anyone is beating Calgary anyway

Stamps have a history of shooting themselves in the foot in playoff games of late, but I currently have a different vibe about this team (like they're on a mission). The Rich Stubler coached defense is playing very well. As always, avoiding injuries to key players will be paramount.

that is the thing that is scary about them Dash. They have been banged up all season. mostly without Cornish, maybe being injured it actually the key keeping them tight

Yeah, they've been lucky to this point to be able to have guys ready to step up and do a fine job. Micah Johnson has been lost for the season, but Cordarro Law is in tough to make the Chargers, so he might be returning to the Stamps. I'm sure Huff is also looking at other NFL cuts to augment the roster.

one other thing. I know Im not fully a football guy. I love the game but dont get all the details of it. However am I off my rocker to say that this has been some of the shittiest CFL ball we have seen in a few years (or at least in the 5 or 6 games I have seen on TV)

Yeah, the excitement and entertainment value is way down this season, defences are dominating right now and the veteran QBs have either been injured or not playing that well. We also have some young QBs on some teams that are going through some growing pains (Mitchell on Calgary has been great some games and not so great in others). I'm hoping things pick up in the second half of the season.
