Same here I woke up this morning and was shocked by the score.

Shout out to Donald Young and Sam Querrey for putting up a fight in their 3rd round matchups ......

Super interested to see how Fed handles Tsonga. This is just the kind of match the old Fed would have won with relative ease BUT now Im thinking JWT takes him out. Cheering for Fed though, Murray still looks rusty and vulnerable so if Fed can get past Tsonga I like his chances vs Andy.

Dimitrov beating Raonic was not a surprise. Even though Milos is getting better, Grigor is playing extremely well so far and I think the coaching change is paying off.

Ehh....I don't know if you saw the match, but Milos played like crap. Dimitrov really earned it in the second half of the fourth set, but other than that, Milos pretty much handed it to him. Unfortunately, Grigor poses no threat to Nadal and will honestly be lucky to take down Bautista Agut.

Outside of Tsonga-Fed and Anderson-Berdych, it's a pretty weak Round of 16. The quarters have potential with possible rematches of the two best matches of last year's tourney (Nole-Wawrinka and Murray-Fed).

I'm no women's tennis superfan, but this is shaping to be the most exciting womens slam in years.

You got all the major contenders (Serena, Azarenka*, Sharapova, Radwanska*, and Li) and several major young guns (Bouchard, Halep, Sloane*). You also got the former #1s looking for redemption (Ivanovic, Wozniacki*, Jankovic). Throw in a couple of talented big hitters (Cibulkova, Makarova) and a homegrown longshot (Dellacqua), and you have a stacked field.

Plus, there are more than a few lookers left.

I enjoyed the 2nd week of the AO in 2012. Just looking at the Women's Draw:

2012 Australian Open ? Women's Singles - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

* 4th round 3 sets between Clijsters and Li.

* Wozniacki-Clijsters QF, with a 2nd set tiebreak.

* Both Women's SF went 3 sets.

So that's at least 4 2nd week matches I liked, and I probably watched partials of a few others too.

Yesterday was a great day of tennis.

FED looked good, except going 5/14 on break chances.

Also, interesting stat:

* Players who win less points than their opponent, only end up winning a match less than 5% of the time.

* FED is the worst at that stat, going 4-24 when he is involved in matches in which the winner wins less points than his opponents.

* John Isner is the best, going 19-5.

* Brad Gilbert once recalled a 2004 USO match, when he was coaching Roddick, in which Roddick had 30 more points than his opponent, and lost.

Here's the article about all of this:

http://www.theatlantic.com/entertain...ederer/283007/

* Gregor Dimitrov - Milos Raonic: Great match (at least the 4th set), great tiebreaker. Lots of match points and set points in that tiebreaker.

I saw the last set. While I agree Grigor poses no threat to Nadal (very few do), but I think he can handle B-Agut. B-Agut was impressive against Paire and beating Delpo earns him more respect, but I think he most likely comes back to earth in week 2

Ivanovic up a break against Serena in the 1st, 3-2.

She played a good return game.

Good to see her competing.

I'm partial to that spin serve down the T.

Serena and Andy Murray are the current best at it IMO.

Ivanovic up a break in the 2nd.

I wonder if she can get through a game without a fault.

What's interesting is that Ivanovic seems to be using her forehand a lot more.

During her previous era, I remember her backhand down the line.

Now, it's her cross-court forehand.

Ivanovic up 3-0 in the 3rd.

Serena will probably break at least once. It's Serena.
