Nole is in pretty good form also....I believe he's on nearly a 30 match win streak including 2 wins over Rafa after the US Open.

As for Fed, I agree 100%....Wouldn't be shocked if he failed to win a set

I made this prediction to some friends before the tourney (I swear) and I'd like to put it here so people don't call me nuts if it actually happens:

Eugenie Bouchard is going to win the 2014 Australian Open

I hoping Ana wins it but would be nice to see a fresh face win a GS

Typical Sharapova.....Dominates the first set but goes down an early break in the 2nd

Halep's a better player than Jankovic. She had six titles last year, but just seemed to be nervous on the big stages. She's a year older and a year wiser, and won't have those letdowns. I'll be stunned if she isn't ranked higher than Jelena at the end of this year. If I were a betting man, i'd say Halep will finish in the 4-6 range this year.

An Australian media outlet referred to Dimitrov as Sharapova's "Bulgarian handbag."

Wow.

Dimitrov moves really well and has a lot of shots, and I'm betting he really makes his mark this year. If he had one really big weapon and got in a little better shape, I think he'd be able to go deep at a lot of majors.

Don't look now, but Nishikori is making Nadal work. 5-4 Kei, on serve in the 1st.

Yep he's in trouble now. He absolutely needed that set. I wouldn't be shocked if Rafa steamrolled him for the next 2 sets.

BTW the Aussie Open been so bad for the Americans that even the Bryan Brothers were eliminated early

Nadal wins in straight sets. Could easily be down 2 sets to 1. Great match could've been amazing

It was a pretty competitive 3 set match, agree.

FED converts on his 1st break chance, up 2-0.
