I take that as "we mounted a defense, but in the end they made the right call".

True but a gloved punch at a guy being a douche was settled on the next shift by the players not by a phone call. Nolan said that he expected a game or two. He told them what he did and why and said he would take the penalty. "Its all on tape"
If he does it again I expect more but he can afford a night off and 6000.00 (guess) and I cant

The replay from that angle just looks different because it seems like Nino has his back to him most of the time

I don't doubt that the main point of contact was to the head, I'm just not sure it was something he meant to do

Should be at least a two game suspension for Nino...

I didn't see the game, but to look at only that video clip...

Nino was going after the puck, not the player, & (IMO) raised his shoulder to avoid a head-on-head collision.

Is that suspension-worthy? - I'm not knowledgeable enough on the finer points of the rules to say.

A hockey play with a bad result +/- crosschecks to the head & nut shots.

The overriding thing for me is that Nino didn't have to make that hit, as Bellows was going nowhere on that play. Bellows bobbles the puck just prior to getting hit and the natural reaction is to lunge in order to try to regain possession. The other thing to consider was that Nino's engine was running hot, somebody has given Nino a shot a little earlier on the shift and he looked like a guy tying to exact some revenge. Put it all together and Nino should sit for a couple of games. That all said, Bellows seems to be ok, so I bet all Nino gets is a fine.

/By the way, most of you know that I can't stand Bellows, so the above paragraph was not easy to type.

If Jared Boll gets in tomorrow's game and jacks Crosby or Kneel up, that theory will be out the window.

Situations should not matter. If it's a dirty and dangerous play it should be punished. What a joke Shanny is.

I hope he carbon copies Kneel's crosscheck to the head against Detroit, but on Crosby.

Mainly because I want him suspended and away from my team.

and in case anyone really wondered, I believe 100%, unequivocally, without doubt, in total understanding and belief, that there is a clear and different interpretation on what is a hockey play and not a hockey play when it comes to players and teams throughout the league from the league, governed by the league.
