#Rangers GM Jon Daniels says he is leaving winter meetings with no guess as to when club will make next deal.

Means AZ is being ridiculous and JD is gonna go explore other options.

Latest On Multi-Team Justin Upton Talks: MLB Rumors - MLBTradeRumors.com

Here's what I'm reading. Texas was motivated to get something done and Tampa was motivated to get something done. And Arizona is just being ridiculous. Fuck it. Let em hold onto him.

My take on it as well. I'd come home, make an offer to Grienke and see if he takes it. If he does, see if you can still work a Josh offer at least. Then I get Colorado on the phone since they don't need a SS and see if they are interested in anything we have probably offered others: Holland, Cruz, the normal minor leaguers, Olt, etc for CarGo. Then let Grant leak that Texas is discussing CarGo with Colorado. Let that sit for 24 hours and then call AZ back and see what their take is.

Doesn't sound like AZ can get anyone they want without us. They don't want to give up their two stud pitchers and CLE wants a solid ML ready pitcher for Cabrera. Let AZ sit and worry for a bit while floating rumors of the talks with other teams.

I bet you're not far off from JD's game plan. Maybe some different names involved, but I bet you're close.

Among pitchers with at least 200 career innings, Uehara's 7.97 career K/BB ratio is the best in baseball history.

Dont understand the thinking on this one by letting him go.

Maybe he didn't want to come back to Texas.

I'd match a 3/$75M in a HEARTBEAT for Josh. With Young coming off the books next year and TV money starting up, I don't care about the dollars and only the years. I'd go 3/$90 if it kept him here without 5+ years!

3 years 75M with a vested 4th year

It occurs to me that the dodgers don't want to be bidding against themselves and be the ones to set the market on greinke. Maybe this is an attempt to try to lure Texas into getting more aggressive and submitting the first bid for greinke.

thought i had heard that both teams had made offers with Texas raising each Dodgers offer. sounds like they can't handle hardnosed bidding

I haven't read that yet, but that would be interesting.

biggest thing is the Dodgers can't understand why Greinke hasn't already signed with them and why Texas is staying with them on getting him. i think they thought that no one would challenge them because of all their money

They were probably banking on that to sign him to a better deal if that's true.
