Source: it is in Michael Young's hands whether he wants to be a Phillie. He is deciding whether to waive no trade.

That's easy to fix. Do you want to be a bench player in Texas or an every day player in Philly?

Hope we aren't getting some A level spare for that much money then! I think it is still worth $10M to have him off the books and not clogging up the IF...but still a good chunk of change for getting nothing out of it.

We need a Stanton or CarGo rumor to get going for the Rangers. It seems like AZ feels they are in a "you will have to pay our price" situation, and need to knock that down a bit.

Could be a deal that brings shields and Upton to the rangers while presumably giving up some combination of Andrus, Olt, Perez and Moreland?

This would still leave Texas the opportunity to sign greinke also.

the way I heard it going down is that Shields will go to AZ and we end up with just Upton.

I saw another where we gave up a lot of our farm and end with Upton and C Perez from CLE. Not sure what idiot thought that one up, like we would trade multiple near MLB ready pitchers for a reliever.
