Still would like to see what the price on Ike Davis would be, think he would hit very well at the ballpark, and as much as I like Moreland, flip him and Cruz in a deal for someone else

You think Davis would be a significant improvement over Moreland?

Definitely, Davis was incredibly unlucky last year and still hit 30 HRs despite playing his home games in Citi

I can see your point. On another note the Nats are only willing to give LaRoche 2 years and they're reportedly not budging on that. Could be a decent plan B or C for the Rangers if Hamilton or Upton doesn't work out. I really think he'd mash at RBIA, and would give us a nice left handed power bat.

I doubt the Mets move Ike Davis. There are rumors but I'm not sure how much truth there is to them. He's 25, hit 30 HR and had 90 RBI in a non hitters park, on a shitty team. I think you're better off trying to go over the top on pitching, Greinke and Shields and sign a discount guy like Hairston that could still provide some pop. Obviously he's nowhere near Hamilton but he'd probably only be 5 million a year.

Any interest in Brian Wilson? Word is he should be cleared by ST and could come reasonably since hes coming off surgery.

Here's another thought. Arizona wants an MLB ready ss for Upton. Why not dangle Leury Garcia?

Apparently they want to move Lucas Duda to 1B and out of the OF

And I'd rather roll with young guys than give Hairston any playing time

You said it yourself, ML ready SS, that's not Garcia, but he and Sardinas would be the making a really good middle IF for somebody in about 2-3 years

I guess so. I thought he might be a little closer to ready. Damn AZ is awful damn picky.

Greinke's wife Emily, a former Dallas Cowboys cheerleader, could influence her husband to get back to Texas, hears Joel Sherman of the New York Post. *Now I'm reminiscing about all the Amber Sabathia-related rumors from four years ago. *Sherman hears the Greinke deal will get done at these Meetings or shortly thereafter.

Just had a shudder remembering Kris Benson's wife and her role bringing him to TEX.

Jeff Wilson just tweeted that Nolan Ryan did not rule out the possibility that the Rangers might sign Greinke and Hamilton, though the big money owners would have to give the okay.

well, we could push the 3-team trade (Texas, Arizona & Cleveland) where Arizona gets Cabrera from Cleveland, Texas gets Upton and Cleveland gets Olt, Perez and a second level prospect. that's a very productive trade for all sides.
