if we re-sign Hamilton i could see the Rangers trading Elvis for a starter and not for another outfielder.

also would like to see us sign Adam LaRoche which would make Moreland available as part of the trade for a starter

like the idea of starting Gentry in CF and batting 1st with Profar at SS and batting 2nd

In other words they won't submit an offer of any kind until he gets another offer on the table. They don't want to bid against themselves. Smart call

Rangers and hamilton making progress on a deal. Also saw a rumor where rangers are considering signing hamilton than trading andrus for upton. Anyone buying the elvis for jups rumor? I mean it would be good if rangers can get a good pitcher for cruz?

They'd have a hard time getting much for Cruz. My wish if that happens is MY goes to Philly and Cruz dh's with part time OF work. Martin and gentry platoon in cf. however, acquiring Upton and Hamilton makes one of Cruz or Murphy expendable.

well, i can live with MY's 1 year at 16M more than i could with ARod's remaining 5 years which will cost the Yankees 113M but if he retires like some are suggesting 70% or 79.1M of that is insured.

On another note, did Boston not learn from last time. They've gone right back to giving bad contracts.

They probably won't want Elvis for price. They'll want Profar. Moreland? Maybe. He's an upgrade over Loney for sure. Perez is exactly the kind of guy they'd want. Not even sure that package gets it done though.

Really wouldn't bother me to not get Upton if they sign josh. Roll with an OF of hammy, Martin/Gentry, Cruz/Murphy and save Elvis for a upper rotation arm.

I don't think that's going to happen. Sounds like josh will be a ranger. If that's the case I don't want to give up what az wants for Upton.

Also, lee has been discussed plenty of times and nothing has come of it. Could just be posturing by AZ.
