I like the move of ogando to the rotation. He was utterly dominant, dare I say... Ace like, before he wore down from pitching his career high innings. His off speed stuff looked good when he used it and that's really all he has lacking. Adding greinke to that rotation would be huge and frankly I still think Yu is the #1 guy which wouldn't put ace pressure on greinke. Then we just have to shore up the bullpen. Much easier to do than worrying about the rotation.

Rangers Considering Zack Greinke
By Ben Nicholson-Smith [November 1 at 2:09pm CST]
The Rangers are seriously considering the idea of pursuing free agent right-hander Zack Greinke, according to MLB.com’s T.R. Sullivan. The Rangers are studying the possibility of signing Greinke, though their interest will depend on his asking price.

Not only would signing Greinke provide the Rangers’ rotation with a boost, it would prevent the free agent from returning to Anaheim. Re-signing Greinke is a "huge priority" for the Angels, Danny Knobler reported yesterday. The pursuit of Greinke will get “serious” with the Angels and Rangers involved, Alden Gonzalez of MLB.com wrote today (Twitter link). The Dodgers could also be interested, since they need pitching and have the resources to spend big on free agents.

Greinke is MLBTR’s top-ranked free agent for the upcoming offseason. The Excel Sports Management client won’t be able to sign with a team other than the Angels until Saturday morning. Check out MLBTR’s complete list of the year’s top 50 free agents and predict their ultimate destinations while you’re at it.

Greinke will cost upwards of 5yrs at 100m. Be ready for that. The angels will see to it.

I still think AJ ends up here, and I'm ok with that. We have the clubhouse to contain him. As for Grienke, I hope to high heavens that we are only there to drive the price up. Don't want him here at all.

I'm ok with Greinke being here.....as long as he is the #2 or #3 in the rotation. I dont want to have to depend on him in "clutch" moments/games.

I don't want my #2 or #3 making $20M+ a year.

the fact of the matter is that if the Angels have a full seasons of Greinke in their rotation they will have the best rotation by far (might even have it without him). They will most certainly beat us out for the division unless we make an even bolder move. If we can't get Price then I am fine with overpaying for a #2 as long as it keeps him from landing in Anaheim.

The angels are well on their way to bankruptcy. I don't believe the rangers should follow them.
