If you haven't figured out yet, EG is an idiot. Why would we possibly want MY hitting second? So he can roll over into double play after double play and clear the bases for our 3 and 4 hitters?

EG is an idiot, MY should not hit higher than 7th but we know he will be with the team next year in, as Nolan stated, a reduced capacity. that probably means strictly as a DH and hopefully in around 100-120 games. but that also means that if they don't want to use Profar and Olt as bench players but play them at AAA, then the Rangers will need to bring in at least 1 maybe 2 utility players thru free agency to cover 1B, 2B, SS & 3B. some possibilities would Mark DeRosa, Jeff Keppinger or Ryan Therriot

i know your opinion on how to use him and that would be to sit him on the end of the bench and we both know that isn't going to happen as long as Wash is the manager. we need to recognize that and be relieved that we might see him in only 100-120 games and only as a DH.

if we get a repeat of his hitting or lack thereof in 2013 i agree but if we get the MY of 2011 then i have no problem with him seeing him playing DH in 100-120 games.

i also believe that it doesn't disappear that quickly unless there's an injury of some kind and i noticed that toward the end of the season his bat speed had picked up. but like i said if the trend of 2012 continues into 2013 then his plate appearances need to go down but that would mean looking at a bat during the off-season to serve as the primary DH

His 2012 performance of -2.4 WAR 8HRs and legendary low slash line of .277/.312/.370/.682 doesn't portend well for 2013. From ESPN Dallas' Rich Durrett:

Young had a .312 OBP. Among players with at least 600 at-bats, only four players had a lower OBP than Young. He had a .370 slugging percentage. Only one player with more than 600 at-bats (Dustin Ackley) had a lower slugging percentage.

EG's installation of Young in the #2 spot for 2013 is unremarkable since EG is solely responsible for Young's #8 MVP in 2011. He can't be traded because of 10-5, his contract and because he sucks.

in your opinion all this is true. i'm at least willing to wait until the end of ST to make a final decision on him
