Isn't that stat based on position played? So if someone acquired him for 2B, as a 2B'er his WAR would be different?

I read a rumor of Elvis for Justin Upton. I would be pissed if that ever came true.

I would be beyond pissed if that came true.

And yes, WAR takes positions into account. But I don't see any team really thinking Mike Young in the field every day at any position is a good idea, especially not considering what they'd be paying him.

not really sure why you guys would be so pissed with and Andrus-Upton swap....thats an extremely fair trade. It is pretty much trading defense for offense and when Hamilton walks we will need to try to replace his production somehow, plus we have a very capable replacement in Profar....on top of the fact that Upton is only a year older than Andrus and is under contract for a year longer, so I dont see why you guys would be so angry

but just to ease your minds, its looking like neither player is even going to get traded let alone swapped for each other so dont have a hissy fit just yet.

I'd like to sign Greinke to a 6 year 108-132mil dollar deal and then sign Haren to a one year 7-10mil dollar deal. I don't believe Haren is done and he could sign a one year deal to get his value up before signing another bid deal. Heck, I'd go 1 year plus a 1 year team option.

I don't want any part of Haren. There's something serious going on with that drop in velocity and when whatever body is involved spontaneously combusts I don't want him on Texas' payroll.

Decent offense+ great starters and relievers along with good all around defense. You dont need to stack your lineup to win.

If we are going to get good offensive players stacking OBP guys would be the way to go.

I say no to Haren. Grenkie is my guy. We just need one more guy to go along with darvish and harrison. We also have holland who if he can drop the homerun ball a bit can be decent #3 starter

I'll speculate ... but I just don't think Greinke has the stamina to pitch for TEX long term. I just don't think he physically or psychologically is a fit to spend half of his next several years worth of games pitching at RBIA.

My impression is that he's more likely to sign back in the NL although there will be a number of AL teams who will pursue him. I think he's a small market SP and maybe NYY makes a run for him ... and that might be a good thing.

We will see.
