Well its 50/50 still so lets not get our hopes up just yet, bottomline is the kid has a serious heart for the program if he's still pondering on returning, that's the kinda kid this program needs...

Welcome back

Of course we would love to have him, but I swear I would worry every game about his health and what he might have missed if he gets hurt. I like the kid enough to want to see him succeed at the next level and you have to get their first.

After watching Callier and Cooper both have season ending ACL's I just can't imagine he doesn't do what he has to do here.

Thanks on the welcome back, its nice to be back........

We talked about it on the big board again I agree with you on the whole returning don't get me wrong, I just think its fantastic that a kid ready to cash in on millions has a little question about coming back and helping his college just a little more...

If Carey and Sankey both came back for their senior seasons, it would be amazing to see what numbers they put up again.

Would love to see what Miles, Sankey, and Washington could do on the ground.

But unlike Carey, Sankey would be dealing with a new coaching crew, plus if Carey does stay at Zona, Sankeys draft stock goes even higher. But that's not as big a factor anymore with the NFL rookie salary cap.

It's been reported that ASJ received a 2nd round draft grade and Sankey a 3rd round grade from the NFL evaluation committee.

Both have said they will be making their formal announcements after the bowl game.

Well Sankey said he will sit down with petersen and his family after the game and make a decision. I doubt he says anything right after the game.

I still would be surprised to see either of them stay. If ASJ can get a decent 2nd rough slot he will likely go for it.

Sankey has mentioned that he would really like to graduate, but his stock is really high right now. There is a possibility that Sankey could come back, but ASJ is definitely gone.

Not shocking at all about ASJ. Will miss that beast playing here, but congrats to all he's done for this program.

I agree on both. Not only for his second round projection, but you got the sense he wasn't as high on this team after all his off season troubles and what it did to his season overall.

He will always be a dawg and we will always appreciate how he gave us his all. His passing game wasn't what it was last year, but his blocking was top notch and he was still a big part of our season.

Good luck man, go make some coin in the NFL.

:suds:

There was something interesting mentioned by ASJ this week about this decision. He mentioned that the role of the TE was more minimized this year in the offense than his previous years.

I have to agree with that statement. Maybe Sark was hot and bothered over finally having a deep WR corps, but we saw the TEs mainly out there for blocking duty in 2013. By the time PAC regular season play started, ASJ was looking ready to ball. It's a damn shame the TE position was purposely under utilized this year.

It was a good game, gotta give the thumbs up to the defense, they gave up yards but over all they played the "bend but but dont break game" BYU was in the red zone alot, but they held them to FG's...

So I just saw on CBS that Wilcox is, in fact, heading to USC as their Defensive Coordinator; did USC decide to pay the $1 Million buyout? There was no mention in the article I read.

I would imagine the seattle times will answer that after the official announcements have come out and whatnot. I'm sure they will have someone question Woodward on it.

Awesome season! We stArted hot and climbed to the top 25 but too bad as couldn't stay there. May the Petersen era be the beginning of many top 25s!

We're also losing a lot of quality players but I have faith in the recruiting process of coach Pete

-- It looks like Bishop Sankey has played his last game at Washington, as ESPN's Joe Schad is reporting that Sankey will forego his senior season to enter the NFL Draft, and it's hard to blame him for the decision.

"The time is right," Sankey said. "I've proven what I needed to prove. I have to look at the position I play and the number of carries."

Sankey, who rushed for 95 yards and two touchdowns in Washington's Fight Hunger Bowl victory over Brigham Young, finished the 2013 season with 1,870 yards and 20 touchdowns. He also caught 28 passes for another 304 yards and a touchdown.

In his three year career at Washington Sankey rushed for 3,496 yards, had 567 receiving yards and scored 38 touchdowns.

As Sankey alluded to, as a running back it's generally better to get to the NFL as quickly as possible if you have a good chance of being drafted, and CBSSports.com has Sankey ranked as the third overall running back in this draft class, and he's a projected second round pick.

Not a surprise at all and I'm happy for him that he made the right decision. He really shouldn't risk an ACL or some other freak thing taking his chances at a future away from what would be very little (if any) potential upside for the risk.

Sorry Regent I heard it on ESPN and started a thread didn't know you mentioned it on this one...
