2013 football season thread

Might be a good call to have a thread to just keep up with reports, injuries, practices, rankings, media mentions and analysis, and what the lovers and haters are saying about us through 2013. Keep it all concentrated in one location for the season unless the post really requires it's own thread to discuss.

Huskies have jumped to 20th in the AP poll, 23rd in Coaches poll, 18th in ESPN power rankings, and 22nd on Bleacher Report rankings after BSU win. We should have no problem maintaining our rankings in the polls to the start of the PAC part of the season.

Missed tackles still seems to be a concern. Coach Wilcox counted 17 missed tackles in the BSU game and will be one of the top priorities to address during the two weeks of practices before the Illinois game.

On the plus side, the only team we held to 6 points or less in 2012 was Colorado. To do that to BSU was pretty amazing.

Russell Wilson was at the game and liked what he saw. Keith Price and him have become good friends and RW seems to be taking a mentoring role with him. Nice.

LOL Regent im still expecting us to be the best team in the south UCLAs defense is shaky to me. After seeing Notre Dame play they looked overrated and we know how anyone can compete with Stanford but they find ways to win. Wisconsin has no qb all we have to do is load the box and trust our solid corners. See ya in a month! You guys could be the best team in the North I feel Oregon is not discipline anymore and that will cost em a few ball games.

Was reported that DawgFather Don James was admitted to Virginia Mason Medical Ctr on Monday and had a pair of gastro-intestinal procedures performed and were successful. He's reported to be stable and doing well. Prayers and get well DawgFather.

Kearse caught his first NFL career regular season TD pass today and it ended up the game winner.

yeah, but for all the hype locker had coming out and the hope he could develop into a great pocket passer, he is looking more and more like a quality backup or a serviceable starter on a poor team vs a star quality NFL starter. Given how high he was drafted I'd say so far that qualifies as a bust. Not that he can't change my mind on it, but I think many expected more from him.

2013 is do or bust time for him. He's finally got some Oline protection and some weapons. If he can't get it done this year, I think the bust tag can get warmed up.

It's been confirmed that the Sept 21st UW vs Idaho St. football game at Husky stadium will have a traditional 12pm start time. Will also be broadcast on the PAC12 Network.

Some good news.

Sark said today that John Timu has only a bruised shoulder. A deep bruise to his rotator cuff. No structural damage. He'll be listed as day to day.

He'll probably sit the Idaho State game, but could be back in business for Arizona.
