Gravity is basically Cast Away in space

To think that it is being compared to Apollo 13 is a travesty. I didn't hate Gravity. It was mildly entertaining but not even close to Apollo 13 and certainly not Best Picture material.

Hmm.. that put's me in a dilemma then, on some level. Because I really, really liked Castaway. Given that, it'd be hard for me to put in the same genre as Apollo 13, even though the basis of the movie takes place in outer space.

I sort of regretted it actually... It was just not as good as the hype... not a bad movie, but there were much better ones out there... Especiallly if you are not seeing it in 3D or IMAX...

I'm guessing people like it for the special effects, I haven't seen it but it looks really boring from the trailer. Looks like 2 people floating around for a couple of hours.

Yeah I liked Cast Away too. Considering all of the technical awards it won I get the impression Gravity is sort of a wiz-bang, state of the art display of the technical side of film making. I could go for that.

Did anyone see A Hijacking?? it was better than captain phillips, both were very similar in that they had the same theme, and similar plot... But A Hijacking, did not have the hollywood BS...
