Very interesting. I wonder if he would have taken CP if he made it to 9.

I like this mock for obvious reasons. No QB for KC or Cleveland and my college from my childhood's guy (Star Lotulelei) would be going to a big city. I would want Geno Smith to go to Buffalo, though. If the Niners were likely to get one of these picks, I would be more opinionated about the rest.

Glennon to Buffalo?
February, 21, 2013 8:04AM ET
By Tim Kavanagh | ESPN.com

Outgoing Buffalo Bills GM Buddy Nix hinted on numerous occasions during the 2012 season that the club would be considering using a high draft pick on a QB this offseason, perhaps as high as their first-rounder. As we get closer to the actual draft, many mocks have shipped a passer to the Bills at No. 8, though the identity of the QB has varied. What about N.C. State's Mike Glennon?

In his most recent mock for NFL.com, Bucky Brooks had Glennon as the Bills' pick, writing, "Although Glennon is a limited athlete prone to making mistakes under duress, he is an A-plus arm talent with tremendous potential."

Whoever is selected will be competing with Ryan Fitzpatrick and Tarvaris Jackson, the latter of whom was re-signed recently. When it comes to Glennon, ESPN AFC East blogger James Walker doesn't see it:

James Walker
Not a match, in my opinion

"I don't see Glennon going to Buffalo at No. 8 overall. However, Glennon would be a strong contender for the Bills at the top of the second round. Glennon probably won't make it that far if he has a strong combine this week."

This seems like such a Buffalo Bills pick. And in case you were wondering, that's not a compliment.

Emery: Six true starters at S in this class

Chicago Bears GM Phil Emery believes there are six true starting safeties in the 2013 class.

This is not something commonly said about the safety position, and is a point we have made all year. The NFL is severely lacking in talent at safety, and this class should really help. Texas' Kenny Vaccaro, FIU's Johnathan Cyprien, Georgia Southern's J.J. Wilcox, and South Carolina's D.J. Swearinger are four of our favorites.

I liked what I saw from Swearinger. Especially for a guy rated in the 3rd round or so.

Giants drafting a guard?
February, 21, 2013 3:07PM ET
By Tim Kavanagh | ESPN.com

One debate that we hear every draft season regarding standout interior offensive linemen is whether a team wants to secure a player that can be a 10-year starter vs. a player that could potentially be a hot-ticket item at a splashier position (like a WR, QB, DE, etc.). The conversation continues this year with Alabama's Chance Warmack and UNC's Jonathan Cooper, both of whom appear ready to start for an NFL team, but who some may not consider worthy of a pick in the top half of the draft order.

One team that may be considering grabbing one of them is the New York Giants, if either of them are still around at No. 20 overall. In a recent mailbag post, Michael Eisen of Giants.com indicated that the team will be considering adding some help at the OG position during the draft this year. Veteran Chris Snee may be retiring soon, and starting LG Kevin Boothe is an impending free agent, so there's a need to add a player that can start immediately if necessary.

You are right Bingo. The difference on combine measurements between CP and Julio Jones is 4lbs and seven 8ths of an inch in favor of Julio.

Where did you get CP's measurements from? Is it official, they have listed them already?

Chiefs listening to offers for top pick

Kansas City Chiefs head coach Andy Reid said he's listening to offers for the No. 1 pick.

Reid added that it's a "pretty valuable pick" but he'd have to be overwhelmed with an offer to move it. It's hard to believe that the Chiefs wouldn't move the pick if they got a proper offer considering how scattered the first round is in terms of value. Texas A&M left tackle Luke Joeckel has long been mentioned as a possible selection.

Some rank LSU LB Minter ahead of Te'o

Draft czar Mike Mayock said some rank LSU ILB Kevin Minter ahead of Notre Dame's Manti Te'o.

"Most people have [Alec] Ogletree first. If he's an inside guy, Ogletree, followed by Te'o, followed by Minter. And some people have Minter ahead of Te'o," Mayock said. It's noteworthy that there's no mention of Kansas State linebacker Arthur Brown, who might be considered as a weakside linebacker by NFL personnel men.

Titans GM Webster not against OG in first

Tennessee Titans GM Ruston Webster says he's not against drafting an OG in the first round.

"We want to improve our OL and overall defensively," Webster said. The Titans are selecting at No. 10 and will likely have a guard of their choosing. Our top guard is Chance Warmack, who will likely be available at the Titans' pick.

Wreh-Wilson the 'wildcard' of the CB position

Draft insider Tony Pauline says UConn's Blidi Wreh-Wilson could be the wildcard of the CB group.

Pauline goes as far to say that Wreh-Wilson could sneak into the first-round. "while I don’t agree with the later portion of that opinion, the fact several people are mentioning this makes it notable," Pauline writes. We see the UConn corner more as a second-round pick.

This is interesting:

'Number of teams' have G Cooper over Warmack

Draft insider Tony Pauline says the story of the Combine thus far is that a "number of teams" have UNC G Jonathan Cooper ranked ahead of Alabama's Chance Warmack.

We don't buy this in terms of a general evaluation, but a scheme specific determination is possible. Cooper could thrive in a situation that predominantly uses zone blocking due to his comfort and mobility in space. Per Pauline, "Cooper was told to purposely keep his weight down at North Carolina and would have no problem carrying additional bulk."

Tennessee WR Cordarrelle Patterson measured in at 6'1 and 7/8 inches and 216 pounds at the NFL Combine.

Although shorter than his listed measurements, there is nothing wrong with these numbers. Patterson is expected to light up workouts, but he does need to show comfort hands catching passes through the gauntlet. We like him as a smaller, less physically imposing version of Julio Jones.

West Virginia WR Tavon Austin showed up to the Combine weigh 174 pounds and measured in at 5'8 and 1/2 inches.

This might concern some evaluators, but not us. Austin never looked like a thick player at West Virginia, since his game is based on ankle breaking cuts and other open field moves. He lacks power and leg drive to finish plays, which is a main reason why the Percy Harvin comparison might not be applicable.

Barkley checks in taller than Geno & Wilson

USC QB Matt Barkley measured in at 6'2 and 1/2 inches and 227 pounds at the NFL Combine. This puts Barkley ahead of Geno Smith, Tyler Wilson, and Ryan Nassib in terms of height. All four came in over the 6-foot-2 mark. Barkley will not be working out at the Combine after not being medically cleared for his injured right shoulder.

Rotoworld:

According to NFL Network's Daniel Jeremiah, "everybody" in the league has Florida DT Sharrif Floyd graded as a top-five player in the 2013 draft.
