Shit, earlier today I was thinking about the draft and saying to myself that this might be one of the strongest drafts overall (besides at qb).

That's funny. I think this is one of the weaker drafts in a long time (so far).

I haven't looked too specifically at the senior bowl invites though.

I disagree. Just looking at the Seniors, this is the best class I've seen since following the draft. It's probably the 2nd more impressive class overall after '11 for me, IMO. Much better than '12, and it'll be better than '14, despite all the flashy players at the top (Clowney, Lee, Bridgewater, etc.)

This class will blow away 2012. Great that we have so many draft picks this year.

Tony Pauline:

I am told Andrew Jackson/LB/Western Kentucky seriously considering entering the draft...

He already said that he was returning?

Do you meaan in terms of depth? Like in the 3rd & 4th rounds? Or the entire 1st round?

2010 was one of the deeper drafts in terms of the 3rd & 4th rounds just off the top of my head. I think I liked the 2009 draft's depth as well (when I was pissed the Niners took McKillop over Brinkley).

Yeah, a lot of depth. I like the first round too, but there aren't too many flashy players at the top like 2014 will have.

2014 will have guys like Clowney, Tuitt, Kouandjio, Watkins, Lee, Bridgewater, etc. at the top, but I'm not liking the depth (at this point, which could change).

I was just about to make a similar respond to Sick's assessment of this draft as well. Jake Matthews is returning to school, yet, the OT line is still one of the better group of guys I have seen in a long time. The DL prospects are also quality NFL starters in the making. You don't have a premier ultra shutdown cornerback, but you there are a lot of solid players from that position as well. Let's not even mention how sick of a class the safety position is. I am in the minority here in believing that the QB class will produce a lot of "steals" with regard to where they are selected coupled with what they will end up doing in the league.

Ditto!!

I mean someone like Barkley, Amerson, Justin Hunter, Lacey, Okafor, Austin, Wilson, Glennon, Hopkins, Woods, Dobson, Ertz, Poyer, etc. could all possibly go in the 2nd round. Which tells me a lot about the players who are being projected to be drafted in the 1st round. Again, overall the players may not be "elite", but they are indeed very good players.

Pozz in need of your expertise again. What is this, "NFLPA Collegiate Bowl"?

I heard of it after finding out that Tuel's now playing in two all-star games.

It's just another all-star event that's been added to the schedule recently. This one is in its second year and is held in Southern California I believe. What makes this one a little different from the Senior Bowl and East-West game is players sit in on talks from coaches and former players who educate them on the business side of football and how to transition themselves into retirement once their careers are over with, assuming they even have a career.

Travis Sawchik:

Boyd said he was leaning toward going pro at one point following his bowl performance. Said he spoke to a lot of folks

Tajh Boyd: "I don't want to say it, but if I'm 6-5 right now, I'm the No. 1 draft pick"

I asked Tajh if decision to return was legacy driven or financially driven, his answer "it's team driven"
