If only offense counted then sure, but KG is one of the best defensive players of all time, and a way better rebounder.

Dirk is an average defender if we are being kind and a poor rebounder for a 7 footer. You could have put KG on any team and he would fit in and make every aspect better, Dirk has to be to be paired with a rim protecting center or it does not work.

Dirk is not the defender or rebounder that KG is, and I would make KG a SLIGHTLY better player, but there are a lot of teams that if you had your choice of the two, Dirk would make the TEAM better because of his unique skill set. Dirk never pulled a LeBron and joined a team with Wade and Bosh, and he never had a Shaq the way Kobe did. The better the players around Dirk are, the more he can elevate a team, because of the mismatches and spacing he creates on the offensive end

Both are first ballot HoFers for sure, and Dirk should have 2 championships, the officiating in the first finals was the worst thing I have ever seen in sports. Wade damn near averaged more FT's then the entire Mavericks team. He would fly into the paint out of control, and the officials always had a whistle ready to bail him out.

Overall I would put Nowitzki 4 or 5 at all time PF's, him or Charles could be in Either spot, but I see it as

If you count Moses as a PF instead of a C he is in that 3rd group as well
