...and 185 minutes is more than 100. Neither player is expected to create for others.

Most of Ayton's points have been on plays where his man has been drawn off of him, like lobs and put backs. He rarely takes a contested shot.
3/185 an infinite amount more than 0/100....as I said, in 100 minutes you'd think he could just luck into 1 assist.

To me, it looks like he throttled down as the game got out of control early. They had a thin chance to win the game before it started, and it evaporated pretty quickly as they really didn't have any drive as a team. He played out the rest of the game without taking many chances.

Yeah, he's not 100%. He came out pretty strong, but when it became clear the rest of the guys just didn't have it and the game got out of control, he throttled down and started looking towards tonight's game. He stayed in it enough so that he could hit the gas if his teammates started playing better and they could make a run.

Since that didn't happen, it became about protecting the ankle

Yeah, he's definitely been costing himself some money. He needs to start playing better and the Lakers need to advance or he'll be doing well if he can get half of what the Lakers offered him.

I respectfully disagree. He played well enough this season to get something in the ballpark of what the Lakers offered him. imo

Man, if the Lakers and Clippers both lose in the 1st round.....the 2nd round will be very interesting between those 4 teams and a ratings dud.

It's the short turnaround in between seasons.....never remember this many injuries to star players.

No doubt about that. Hopefully the league will never have to do something like this again.

Chuck spent at least half of his career backing down somebody to the paint. Not exactly high risk play.

Yeah okay. Try taking your custom Lakers homer goggles off. All I'm saying is AD has a history of missing games. You can disagree with that if you want. Which I'm sure you will.

Pretty much any slab of meat would work.

It's a difference of .6 per game, not infinite. 1 point.

I'm not disagreeing with that. Chuck just doesn't have much of a leg to stand on to criticize any elite player with a ring.

To the Lakers for the MLE? League minimum?

He's an idiot to turn down $40+M.

You need to wait to see what he signed for before calling him an idiot. He just turned 36 so if he can get a 3 yr/90+ M deal then he is far from an idiot

$80M? Only because the Lakers are capped out will he get near that. They can't recoup that salary if they let him go.

I’m struggling to understand where this idea comes from that players will leave money on the table to come play with 36 year old LeBron the summer after he potentially is out in round 1? If a guy is going to go ring chasing is the LA Lakers still “that spot” where you want to go to chase the ring?

When you consider that the reason they may end up out in the first round is injuries to their 2 best players, why not?

But how is that condition going to change? Both are just as likely to be hampered with injury again as they are to stay healthy.

I said in the ballpark. Never said 80M and never said it would be from the Lakers. I just don't think he is going to end up getting 35-45M based on 1 or 2 bad playoffs games. He still had a good season overall

Anyone who pays that much for a guy that always seems to get hurt in crunch time that late into his career should seek help.

I think he doesn't get close to 80M on the open market. The Lakers are in a bad position and unable to pay anyone else above the MLE, so they may approach that $20M annual number, but he's probably cost himself some length on that deal at least.

That said, that doesn't mean he's suddenly at 35-40M. I never said cut it in half, lol.

I trust Paul and his agent more than I trust you. He is still a top 5 PG in the league and can turn bad teams into good teams as he proved with OKC last year and the Suns this year. They know what the market is. If a team think he has 2 more good seasons like this then a 3 year deal is fine.

The great thing about CP3 is scoring is not what makes him great. What makes him great is how great he is at being a true PG
