Game Thread: #14 Michigan vs. #12 Notre Dame

Yup. It was bad. It's the line. Still god awful. QB has guys in his face as soon as the ball is snapped and RB's are hit at the line. It's going to plague us all year. Anyone with a decent defensive line is going to cause our offense problems. My guess is that they're going to look awesome against anyone who doesn't.

We probably have a top 10/15 dline. It's good not elite or anything. I was more surprised we scored 24 points on offense. Replacing two top 10 picks, and losing our best RB and two best WR's I wasn't expecting much. And we also play called like pussies in the 2nd half.

Nah. QB play is much better. It’s like a copy of last years team with a QB. So like 9-10 win range hopefully. But I could see worse if we play as sloppy as tonight.

It’s deep. Which counts as much if you can keep guys fresh and reduce the risk of injury.

Yeah we have a good dline. And you're right we do have good depth. Defense played really well tonight. Best thing about losing ugly, which I think we did, is that we shouldn't be happy. Honestly should have won by more than this.

I don’t think that’s on the players though. I think Kelly got conservative. He didn’t want to give up an easy turnover. I do think if that TD didn’t get taken off the board mich would have quit.

Harbaugh is now 1-6 vs. Ohio State/Michigan State/Notre Dame. Michigan hasn't won a true road game against a top 25 team since 2006(damn you fat ass Charlie)

I know. It just wasn’t so much of them making bad plays as Kelly making bad calls and not adjusting the blocking scheme to keep the DE’s off

As much as I hate giving scUM light at the end of the tunnel, Ed Warriner is a damn good O-line coach. He is the same guy that took a terrible offensive line in 2014 against Va tech (6 sacks, Barrett running for his life) and made it one of the team's strongest units by season end. I could easily see Michigan's offensive line vastly improving as they get more real game time. Hope I'm wrong

The game did change after half. Our defense adjusted well and ND stopped hauling in those miraculous catches. But our line couldn’t pass protect at all. Your defenders were in the face of Patterson in no time. Our tackles are just garbage. The good news is ND doesn’t count towards our conference record and we have a few weeks to get something figured out.
