Sucks that we won’t be the team to benefit from the beat down, but like I said elsewhere, I can appreciate a 107 win season and a Division Title as long as the doggies don’t get a banner to hang (except Wild Card Champions, of course).

Too bad they weren't already worn down when we faced them. On one hand, I love seeing Atlanta handle them. On the other, it makes the NLDS all that more frustrating.

I don’t think so. We didn’t destroy our rotation (what little there is of it) against them. They blew every bit of fuel they had against us. Pitching Max in game 5 killed him.

Saw an interesting writeup on the Braves. From what I saw they were much better matched to the Doggies than us. It stated that they were a team that has lived off of 4 seam fast balls for the entire year. They had some very high success rates against that pitch. Also showed that the LA pitching staff throws more 4 seamers than any other team. According to stats they throw at a 62% rate for a game. We throw at about 46%.
Can sort of see it in this series so far. A tired pitching staff throwing 4 seamers can't be a good thing. They are actually lucky they haven't been swept. The game 3 win was a gift.

Listening to Darling last night and he made a good point. With the shortened season last year it really wore some of these pitchers down throwing more innings this year. He pointed out that while Urias was stellar last year in the playoffs it was mostly attributed to the short season and throwing him in game 2 was a huge mistake on Roberts part. It really showed on his fastball which was flat and he had trouble locating his soft stuff.

The Braves handled the Brewers' pitching and are handling, thus far, the Dodgers' pitching just fine. They were probably the least likely NL team, that made the playoffs, that were thought to make the World Series.

They weren’t fighting for their lives for 162 and THEN have to play a 1-game must win play-in and THEN play an emotional nail biter that wasn’t decided until the 9th inning of game 5.

And our take pitches approach to offense wasn't helped by bad umpiring. Not gonna make excuses, though. We should've adjusted to how the game was being called. At the same time, I'm not going to blame our hitters too much because we faced excellent Dodgers pitching, while the Braves are facing a tired version of the Dodgers pitching staff. I wouldn't count the Dodgers out yet either....they have Scherzer and Buehler throwing on normal rest and if they win game 6 all the pressure is on Atlanta. They came back from down 3-1 on Atlanta last year too.
