Among active QBs, he's:

5th in comp%
5th in yards
3rd in TDs
5th in rating
4th in YPA

In an era of QBs who are just getting "stats in bulk", I'd say that's a damn solid resume.

It's 'solid' but when getting to/winning SB's play a large part in a HOF candidacy (whether you agree with that or not), 'solid' isn't good enough. He has to be the all time leader in some categories, or shattering records....winning awards, etc. to tip the balance

Not a bad point on Anderson though, I'd agree with you that he should be in. Also took Cincy to their two SBs, didn't he?

The first one. Boomer Esiason was the QB in the second.

So your whole argument is that even though he was never considered a top 3 QB in any season, he should get into the HOF because of a quota?
I'm not mother fucking talking about God damn Matt Ryan Myles !! Lol

Fuck Matt Ryan .

I'm responding to the assertion 7-8 guture HoFers cant all be playing at the same time .

When in fact thats fairly average and thst number would only go UP as guys play longer .

Once again . To be clear. I haven't said a word about mother fucking Matt Ryan . Forget Matt Ryan . Fuck him.

Now who are the other 4-5 guys from right now who are going to get in aside from Brady, Brees, AR and Ben?

Remember ... Mother fuck Matt Ryan .

Now . Who ya got ?

Yep full PE1
It's ludicrous . I'm making a completely unrelated point here lol.

All this because I said Ryan had a better chance to get in than Rivers .

Live and learn .

Anderson also had the pleasure of playing against some of the greatest teams ever and in a league where violence was a big part of the game.....The guy was legit and is better than many that are in the HOF already.....Always had huge respect for his game....Threw a great accurate ball.....

You are talking quotas again. Who else from today? Maybe Luck, Maybe Wilson, maybe Maholmes, maybe someone else.

It's not a quota. It's historically what happens
The best gauge of future action is past action. .The HoF doesn't have to take anyone .

I still think he's the most underrated QB of all time. Yeah....spending the majority of your career in the same division as the Steel Curtain of the 70's isn't exactly the easiest path to a SB, and probably severely robbed him the credit he should be due.

All in.

Rivers
Eli
Ben

Whole class gets in.

Ryan has 4 years to catch those guys. Needs a ring.
Wilson has 8 years to catch those guys. Has the ring. On pace with TDs. Needs to throw more or play long.
Luck has 8 years to catch those guys, but needs some post-season success.

Everyone else is way too young for the conversation. Anything could happen. Wilson and Luck aren't even old enough yet, but have a good start if they do the rest.

I do not know anyone who would agree that he was a top 3 QB in any season he played in. You are basing it totally on stats. You have to watch the games man.

Agreed. Can anyone say, "garbage time?"

Not once.

Some people just have no standards.

Like, say, Browns fans.

It's not about standards bc if it were me I wouldn't put most of those guys in. It's about who THEY will pick. It's become a joke. I mean just look at some of the players in the HOF. Eli is getting in only bc he has 2 magical runs, that tells you all you need to know.

So the question was: is Ryan a HOF player?

I guess that can be taken two ways: Is he truly a HOF type of player on the field? Right now, no. Is he going to be a HOF player (even if he isn't worthy)? Who knows.

Super bowl appearances matter? Or one? Kaep?

The 2nd half of that game will be the defining moment of his career unless he wins a Superbowl. If he gets any consideration for the HOF it will definitely be considered.
