Profootballtalk's Mike Florio passes along "palpable buzz" that Oklahoma RB Joe Mixon "could linger much longer than expected" in the NFL draft.

Per Florio, "multiple league sources who have investigated the situation believe that Mixon may be waiting beyond round two or three." Another source "suggested" to Florio that "Mixon possibly won't be drafted at all." NFL.com analyst and longtime league insider Gil Brandt recently posted a ranking of this year's top-150 draft prospects, and Mixon wasn't included. The draftnik community has seemed convinced Mixon will be drafted early in the second round.

There are mocks that have him going in the first to Green Bay, if he get past this pick it would shock me completely and that's the bad news. The good news is we then have a chance to get him with our 2nd round pick. Right now I don't think he falls into the second round or later.

If you draft Mixon at all your team will have to deal with feminist groups and media hype. Anybody remember the Auburn crowd at the Orange bowl game in which Joe went off and started celebrating(TD) as he does always. The Auburn crowd went nuts and shouted a deafening chant of "He hits women" and he went on to ruin Auburn sugar bowl. Remember Brent Musburger “Let’s hope this young man makes the most of his (second) chance and goes on to have a career in NFL". Musburger caught a lot of flack for that comment. Best to be silent LOL. Now you can image how some Sugar Bowl officials had to be horrified as they watched all of this. You can also image what some NFL teams were think also.

Question: If you draft Joe Mixon can you deal with all of this. At OU we know what it is like. Many NFL teams are unable to deal with inviting a firestorm of media attention and second-guessing. Any incident rather small or big will result in media backlash which will put a scar on your teams in general. The press will have a field day with any of Joe's misfortunates. So you will have to deal with the public and media. Mixon will always receive a shower of boos b/c he is not going any where just like his story.

There is no way in hell Joe goes undrafted. If he goes in the 2, 3 etc that's absolutely wonderful for me. Personally I am drafting Mixon #1 unless some of the top 10 players falls. I am drafting Mixon b/c of what he brings to the table. Could care less about what the anti Mixon groups think b/c we certainly do have SOME REPEATED OFFENDERS in the NFL who have hit a woman. We even have one on our team.

Let me add an addendum to your lines....."Many NFL teams are unable to deal with inviting a firestorm of media attention and second-guessing. Any incident rather small or big will result in media backlash which will put a scar on your teams in general. The press will have a field day with any of Joe's misfortunates."

With this notation.....If, however, there is one team in the NFL that as a course of business invites a firestorm of media attention and second guessing. Where every dumb move is followed by a dumber one then the perfect fit for Mixon would be in Wasdhington.

Come on Sty.. we both know, if he has not gotten over his "Issue" the DMV is the WORST place in he world for this kid. A guy who knocked a woman out, in a City that BREEDS sisters with attitudes, that asking for a shit storm of epic proportions.

Again if he is there in the second, and we havent drafted a RB, and we draft him... I will get over it. But if we burn the 17th on him..... I will almost expect it to blow up in our faces.

Here's the point.....isn't that "normal" for our team? I can hear it now (if he hasn't changed)....what dumbasses Bruce and Dan are..... Nowhere but DC...#parforthecourse.

On the other hand if he comes in and becomes the most interesting man in the world minus the Dos Seckies and almost single handedly changes the current view of our front office.
