He did eventually beat the case.
I've said from day one. Just do your homework, cross all the t's, dot all the i's, and determine if the risk is worth the reward. Mixon would definitely still be on my board, as would Cook. I just put their locker next to a D. Hall or someone like that. Guys who have clearly matured and could help keep guys in check.
Oklahoma RB Joe Mixon allegedly punched a female while in high school.
The allegation comes from a man named Anthony Hernandez, who says for a "fact" that Mixon hit his daughter when the two were in high school. "He threw my daughter to the ground and hit her," Hernandez said. "I went to the school and they hid him in the office. He got no punishment. The police even came. I was escorted off the campus as if I did something wrong. These are simply the facts, he's a woman beater." Longtime personnel man Gil Brandt said this incident is of concern among NFL teams as well, in addition to the video of Mixon laying out a girl with a punch while at Oklahoma. Mixon could be drafted anywhere from Day 2 to being an UDFA.

We'll only get one shot at him and that's if we're lucky enough that he gets to #17.
IF we take him at 17, I can only hope they call Jerry and ask for advice on baby sitting firms. Sure he might not need it, but then again better to be safe than sorry IF we go there.
Personally I think he has a chance to fall to us at 49, and might even fall farther.
You can't waste number 17 pick on this guy. Listen, he didn't shove this girl. He didn't even slap this girl. (none are ok btw) He Boom Boom Mancini'd her.. in a public place.. for all to see. Knocked her the F out. Then walked out without any concern for her. Rules, ethics, scruples, empathy, civility... all escape this dude. This type characteristic belongs in Dallas and other places not here in Washington. He's paying for her college because he has too. Only reason. Great player sure... but you can win with others. Pass on this turd.
You can't waste the 17 pick on this dude is all I'm saying. He will fall to the later rounds. Even then I would pass. We all deserve a 2nd chance but with his character I'm sure he's had that already... somewhere. Swept under the table by a coach, or whomever, just wanting to win... at any cost. Until the NFL or any other professional organization unite together and make examples out of some of these assholes who've been spoon fed since coaches and others started realizing their abilities these said assholes will never understand the word respect. He ain't worth having on this team no matter how talented he is. You can win with others. It is interesting that you see Washington as the bastion of civility, high ethical standards, purveyors of empathy and the place where strict followers of rules is the standard. Honestly, if he is everything that you claim him to be, I can't think of one better place where that definition fits perfectly.
I think you almost have to pass, only because everyone else is going to pass on Mixon - probably past 47 - even though I personally think he's worth it at 17. The NFL doesn't go by what I think. It's a relatively conservative multi-billion dollar industry. And people seem to be forgetting the power of video - even though we saw what happens with perception when the Ray Rice video came out. You could knock me over with a feather if he gets picked before 47. I think he'll go somewhere in the 3rd round, but said feather would not knock me over if he's there in the 4th round. You can't waste the 17 pick on this dude is all I'm saying.
