Debateable, and I've gone back and forth on it.

You pay a C note for a jersey you are committing funds to the team in question, so it could be argued that you are in fact part of the team, though in a very small capacity.

Last year my son's GF's mom buys him an autographed Butler pic with him making the SB int and he gives it to me. I'm like I don't want it, why don't you keep it and he says that he doesn't want it either. Guess the apple saying
