Just giving you a hard time WRT the reaching for the Bryan Adams correration. I think I'd rather watch paint dry then read his tweets.
Love me some Wilson on the grid iron, really can't take a lot of him off of it. Even his pressers are boring. That's what made me laugh when I saw this thread.

I got that you were giving me a hard time. Just seems like there are quite a few up here that really did buy into the premise of this thread and I was educating them.

Lots of valid things to pick on him about. Short, dorky, involved in the worst last play in SB history, etc. Stick to the valid ones.

Honestly I think people really really really WANT there to be problems with this negotiation process. I mean people have already declared it to be the end of the entire franchise ffs.

It is nice to already be paying your franchise QB over $20 mil and still be about $15 mil under the cap.
No team in NFL history has won the SB with a QB taking up more than 11% of cap space. Including GB. That would make this year's salary around 16m to stay at 11%.

And Rodgers doesn't hit over 20m in cap hit until 2017 so your argument that your QB already makes over 20m/yr is entirely wrong. He was 17.5m against the cap last year. 18.2 this coming year.

It comes with the territory of being a winner. I like the dorky adjective. That pic where BB and those others were caught checking out that model. Check nim out. I didn't realize RW could double for Erkel in a pinch. :pound:

I'll take my dorky, short, biblically-inspired, boring interview QB any day. Even if he comes in a bit over the magic 11% cap number.

Nothing says christian like hitting twitter when contract negotiations aren't going your way.

Nothing says being informed line creating lines and then reading between them.

Even if he is refering to negotiations, I dont see the un-christian nature of the comments.

And, par for the course this offseason, this report is being refuted.

Source: Report of gulf between Seahawks, Wilson incorrect | HeraldNet.com - Sports

Of course, they're going to have someone deny it. That's what everyone, not just Wilson and the Seahawks, but almost every player in a contract standoff with a team, does in this situation, since it's bad PR for there to be a rift. Doesn't mean there isn't one. Other reports say there is quite a divide.

Latest noise: Russell Wilson, Seahawks so far apart that new deal wont be done this offseason | Seahawks Insider - The News Tribune

Yea. Some teams make an art form out of denial.

A franchise QB on a contender who is currently under contract, and the negotiations are taking some time? Must be some huge issues going on there! :rolleyes2:

The comments are kind of self serving, don't you think? All praise the glory of god and pay me!

I must have missed it when he said that.

If that's your interpretation though, self serving is the American way.

Are any of those reports from the Seahawks or from Wilson's camp? Those are the only 2 parties that know what is going on. Everything else is speculation.

"The Wells report is biased innuendo. It means nothing"

"Negative 3rd party reports about your team must be true"

Deflect much? This has nothing to do with ball deflation. This is about contract negotiations.

And, in my comment, I was specifically clear that I was NOT singling out the Seahawks:

Of course, they're going to have someone deny it. That's what everyone, not just Wilson and the Seahawks, but almost every player in a contract standoff with a team, does in this situation

And yes, this would include the Patriots. If someone denied that a Patriots player was upset with the team over contract negotiations, but that player kept tweeting innuendo-filled passive-aggressive comments, that's pretty clear evidence that the player is upset. It is in every team's interest, including the Patriots, to try to downplay contract disputes.

It's funny that there are fans here who think this cryptic tweet indicates a contract negotiation problem and also fans who don't think there is evidence that Brady cheated. Some are probably even the same fans.

Those tried to argue on either side of how to interpret his tweets should look at more than that tweet.

These were around the same time.

So these are dismissed as not meaning anything toward his overall state of mind because it doesn't fit the narrative that he is disgruntled.

These are random ones from prior to this thing. I just rolled the scroll wheel until it stopped. He has these every day pretty much, or at least many a week.
(another song reference)

Really people, he posts every day in one liners that come from all kinds of sources but are mostly of some kind of inspirational theme or things that make you think about something in your own life.

If you try to read between the lines on anything this guy posts you are barking up the wrong tree.

All teams have to abide by the same cap space limit. Doesn't matter how rich your owner is.

Yeah, try telling that to fans of teams with notoriously cheap owners like Ralph Wilson, Mike Brown, and whoever owns the Rams now. Having an owner who basically gives the team a blank check has its advantages.
