Mike Greenberg: “If the balls were checked at halftime and were found to be under-inflated would they then be pumped up to meet regulation at that point, meaning that they then would have played the second half with balls that met regulation? “

Austin: “To my understanding that's what would have occurred. They would have brought the balls back up to the standard.”

I don't think that's what he's saying. I think what he's asking is why the Patriots didn't just inflate them to 12.5 before the game, and then when the officials checked them they would be within the accepted range? That makes the most sense to me.

All signs point to the fact that Brady cheated. I get it if you think that the proof presented doesn't "prove it", however based on all the information it's pretty clear. Now the Patriots are trying to explain away some of the texts with some honestly laughable explanations. I also understand if you think that the punishment doesn't fit the crime. So here's the question: Do you honestly think that Tom Brady didn't have the balls deflated?

No idea.

Possibly, and if he did it's minor in the big scheme of things. This story is only a big story because of who it is.

As for the explanations being "laughable". They may very well be, but at the same time I have been in situations where I thought what I was being lead to believe as to what had happened with what I had been tasked to look into turned out to be accurate.

Until we get the whole story there is no way to be certain.

Ok, so the Patriots are claiming that they inflated the balls to 12.5, the low end of the legal limit. Fine. But then you say this.

he did have them deflated...no one takes this seriously because it absolutely shreds peoples cases...

my take...brady DID have these idiots do this...take ref approved (and repumped) balls and deflate them quickly before the game...with no gauge, and no time. ilegal, yes. but the intention wasnt to go below 12.5...

he wanted them at 12.5

they use a needle, no gauge, and puff air out to what they "think" is 12.5. its why i think brady was so adamant that he "doesnt think he cheats". in his mind, he doesnt. he asked for 12.5...and got a wide range because it was done quickly, unscientifically, and by 2 adult teenage girls.
