Have to wait until all the facts come out, but regardless....this doesn't look good at all. If McDonald is guilty, then I'd have no issues of cutting him on the spot. A very tiring trend going on in Niner land.

Beyond Reproach
It's Above Reproach and are you suggesting that isn't accurate?

Need to wait for the details for sure. Supposedly happened at a birthday party that had several 9'er players at it. Cops called in at some point and it was reported they found bruising on the womans arm and neck and that prompted them to take action.

Really interested in hearing her story. Did she call them? Was she actually abused in front of the other players? If so, did they seriously stand by and watch it without doing anything? Does she report other times of physical abuse?

Will she say nothing happened and protect him? Happens all the time. Even if she is abused the guy she is with could lose millions on a conviction which impacts her lifestyle as well. That and fear of reprisal are always reasons to lie to protect the abuser.

lol@people making excuses or creating examples of when hitting a woman is ok. Sure, there are extreme examples that many would go along with, but this is a pro football player. You telling me there is a woman out there that even they would need to use physical violence in self defense? This isn't some scrawny 120lb dipshit.

You weren't there and don't know what happened. What people are saying is let's wait for the info to come out and allow for due process. And there's hardly any reason for a 300 lb to use self defense against 99% of the population, man or woman. Do you think there should be an automatic suspension if he beats the tar out of some drunk guy at a bar that was annoying him?

And the whole "higher standard"crap that Goodell is spewing is the biggest bunch of BS. There's a lot of places that won't touch a guy if a violent misdemeanor shows up on a background check.

Being charged and being guilty are 2 different things.... Harbaugh will wait until the facts come out before he gives a knee jerk reaction and cuts him...

Don't think you read what I said correctly, or your response makes no sense if you did.

I said lets see what comes out and what the full story is didn't I?

I just laughed at the people trying to create situations where hitting a woman is ok and said perhaps there are some situations, say a 110lb small guy being beat up by some 6' tall 150lb chick. Defend yourself by all means, but this in an NFL athlete. No way some prego chick should be touched by someone like that no matter what they did/said.

Didn't say anything about what is alleged as we don't have many details other than it was a b-day party with other players present and the cops found bruises on the woman's arms and neck. Can't judge what should be done until you know what they did.

You don't see how those two statements kind of contradict each other? And why is the NFL singling out one particular type of violent crime with a mandatory 6 games? Some guy getting his face smashed by a NFL player who loses it is somehow not as bad as a guy hitting his significant other? If they're going to do this then they should do it for all violent crimes. This is nothing but a knee jerk reaction by Goodell because he wants to maintain some false image of the league that people haven't bought in years.

McNair's is a cautionary tale about staying away from crazy bitches (especially when you're married), not about beating them down before they shoot your sleep.

Again, this all comes down to the company you keep. If McNair had been home with his kids...

I understand your point of view, but we are living in a different era today Sonny.....Equal rights for women in the job place, and court room, etc.....
There are women cops, firemen, construction workers, boxers, etc......They are charged with assault as well as a man in a court of law, and have to pay child support in many cases like the man used to......
Finding what an old timer like me knows is a real lady in today's world is just about impossible...
They will argue that they are because they don't really know what one is, having been brought up with this new equal to man mentality.....
I called some men down at the job one day for foul language in front of a female secretary, she then began dropping one f bomb after the other in a normal conversation.....
I walked out and thought, no wonder they are not respected as a lady today, they are more like the men...
I am not surprised with the increased domestic violence, it's inevitable in this generation.
There is no place for gentlemen and ladies anymore for the most part, just men and wo-man or man with a womb.....Sad but true !!

I'm wondering where MA, the domestic violence police is on this one.....
She/he beat a hole in that drum on the Ray Rice case.....
I guess it has to be purple to attract her/his attention.....

Why would that troll post in this thread? It has nothing to do with Ray Rice or any other Raven.

Yes.

And the NFL doesn't need to offer due process. They share the headline with the player, if I was them, I would have as close of a zero tolerance policy as possible. Which is what they now seem to have.

Marshawn Lynch was accused of an assault that really didn't get much headlines. But if you want to play guilty by accusation that's 6 games. You cool with that?

If Marshawn was arrested for felony assault I would be.

Ok. So I guess arrest=guilty=due process. That will work great with something that's basically an automatic arrest for someone if the police show up and both parties are still present.

Accused, not charged or arrested. Makes a bit of difference, don't you think?

Not really, because I don't assume guilt or innocence based upon the opinion of the cop that happened to be called to the scene until it's been challenged in a court of law.

Once you realize that the media and pop culture in this country are run by females and the beta males that drool over them, this will make more sense.

I'm not trying to trivialize domestic violence. I'm just wondering why a domestic violence case should somehow be treated differently than other violent felonies that these guys might commit. Why not just have a rule that covers all violent acts instead of looking at this one in particular? What happened is something outrageous hit the internet and he went too soft on Rice. Now people are screaming "2 games for knocking a woman out and a season for smoking weed"? Now that clown Goodell wants to protect his ridiculous drug suspension policies and is going tough on one particular violent crime that a player might commit. If he's going to go 6 games on domestic violence then he should go 6 games on other violent crimes as well, which I wouldn't have a problem with.
