Tierny is an improved version of Pavelski that can actually skate. Only difference is Tierny is more of a play maker where as Pavelski is a goal scorer. Don't be surprised if he's the teams 3rd line center by the end of the year.

If that were the case wouldn't he be better suited to play in woostah? Makes no sense to return to a major junior league as an over ager if he's potential is that high

Where did you see he's returning as an overager? He is slotted to play in Worcester this coming season if he doesn't make the big roster out of camp which is a definite possibility.

yeah, I saw nothing of him going back to the O? I thought he was also going to woostah...

He was 1st on the team in goals and 2nd in scoring behind only Domi, who is of course a real blue chipper (selected 12th overall), not to mention a +44. He led the team in PO scoring by alot. He played all this year at 19 yo, so yeah he was a bit older, but not that much and not an overager. Statistically, he's been excellent in the O, but then again so was hamilton and he seems to have fizzled some (Although I suppose he's still in the mix).

I am excited to see Tierney play and I hope Cmon is right about him projecting as a top 9 forward. I think he might be part of the reason dougie is staying out of the UFA market. I dont see any blue chip prospects at forward in the system, but then again, guys have been known to surprise. I didnt see Nieto developing so well in his stint in SJ. He could be a top 6 forward before long which his speed and a full season of hertl could be fun to watch.

Still, it's all about the big two this offseason. I am glad dougie is biding his time. The UFA market is thinning out big time. The best Centers left are Legwand, Ribeiro, and Roy all three of which are only borderline #2 C's at this point, let alone top liners. Once they get signed, the market will be completely dry and dougie will be dealing from a real position of strength. The return will be significant...

DW is staying out of the UFA market because he wants to push forward with the teams prospects. Tierney, Goodrow, Hamilton, Tarasov, Hayes, Oleksuk all have a realistic possibility of making the team out of camp at the forward position. I think DW and the coaching staff is already penciling in Mueller on the back end with Doherty, Abeltshauser, Tennyson getting a shot as well. The team also signed Taylor Fedun who is an outstanding young dman who wasn't QO'ed by the Oilers.

Everything I read on him, must be old news I guess. That being said im always wary of overaged forward prospects vs Dmen and goalies

You are assuming Joe and Patty will agree to be traded, and I don't think that's going to happen. They have both said they want to stay here. I know things can change, but they both took hometown discounts to stay off the open market, and now Wilson wants to turn around and trade them? Don't think either of them are gonna be ok w that.

He wasn't an overager this last year though. If he went back to the OHL this year it would be his overage year.

Apparently the Sharks couldn't bring Link Gaetz out of retirement so they just signed the next best thing in John Scott. The Sharks now have the two worst forwards in the NHL under contract in Scott and Brown.

Sharks have aquired Tye McGinn from Philly for a 3rd round pick in 2015.

Whats with the moves? Toughness for the minors or Sharks?

Two stupid moves, if the Sharks are planning on dressing these two guys regularly

Somebody brake all of Doug Wilson's phones, computers, tablets, fax machine. I'd hate for more stupid moves later

I actually like he McGinn move. He's a 4th liner who can actually play hockey.

Thd Mcginn move I get. He's only 23 and has shown come ability. It's a low risk move...

The scott one makes zero zense. Brown and desi isnt enough. Why not pay 300k more and get downie who is frankly scarier than scott and can play a top 9 role? This is reallllly bad managing to me. Much better options for similar money were out there.

Burish, brown, scott, and Kennedy eating up 6.5M in cap space while providing painfully little to the team. It's beginning to be a roster full of crap. I dont see how adding a guy who plays 3-5 mins and does nothing but fight really provides protection for anyone. Torres can contribute and play 12-14 mins and actually does protect linemates. If Brown crushes Hertl, I dont see Jon Scott sending a major message to anyone. He wont even get out on the ice.

Very strange moves from dougie given what was out there. I suppose its only a 1 year deal for scott, so it doesnt hurt much, it's just too bad it wasnt downie for me.

Of course, when dougie give a one-way 2M per deal to Mcginn, then it will complete the offseason perennial FA brilliance.
