Pick the Podium 2024 Season

So day, one of testing is behind us now. Only two drivers didn’t do any driving, Perez and Hamilton. Max and Russell were the only two with over 100 laps.

Max set the pace a second faster than anybody. Russell was in 12th 2.8 seconds behind. Of course, nobody knows fuel loads and exactly what they were trying to prove.

I am predicting a long season for anyone not named Max!

No not that Max!!!!

After 20+ years of being super absorbed into everything F1 online, including watching testing and gathering up every piece of info about the tech, I can't make myself care. I watched nothing of testing, paid zero attention to any of the car launches and didn't even find out Lewis is going to Ferrari until two days later. Everything I loved about F1 seems gone now. I'll probably pop in from time to time to chat racecars with y'all but it is fine to not have the pick the podium contest.

Any outstanding money I won in the past can go towards a plate of wings or something. Thanks for all your work over the years Retro, I truly appreciate the effort you put in.

My sentiments exactly 43. After we lost our sponsor, I felt very similar to what you expressed. You were champion in 2021 and like Hank, Schmoopy, and myself, you can stop by once and awhile and drop an opinion or two but like my exit from NASCAR for some of the similar issues, my interest in F-1 has faded. That’s exactly how I feel about NASCAR, IndyCar, hockey, basketball, baseball and TV golf. I used to watch them kinda, hockey a lot, but I don’t watch any of them anymore. I focus on F1. Not like an idiot, just watch it, sort of pay attention and NFL.

I'll add high level rugby and soccer to what I watch. Tennis majors if I'm interested? I actually sat and watched a bunch of high speed catamarans sailing to other day. I used to sail small 470s back in the day.

And aside from things like swimming and the odd track and field thing, I've dumped the Limpics as well, both seasons.

So it is looking increasingly like Jos Verstappen is the source of the leaks of texts between Horner and the female employee, as well as the whole shit show power struggle to begin with. Jos has said that Max will leave RBR if Horner keeps his job.

Just what I needed to rekindle my attention for the sport. MORE attention on Jos Verstappen.... /s

I just hope Horner pays more attention when crossing car parks.
