I feel bad for the kid. He is in the absolute best situation he can possibly be in. There is no hole in that Braves lineup. If you have to pitch around someone to get to a guy you can throw fastballs to, it's Kelenic. In that lineup, he would probably see more fastball in the strike zone than any other hitter in MLB. But, the kid is his own worst enemy. He over-thinks everything.

He needs to go to some low profile, low expectation place, where he feels no pressure to produce. Pittsburgh. KC. Oakland. etc
Totally agree he's in the best place but it's also his worst nightmare. I feel he's put more pressure on himself to preform for his new team which is one of the best in baseball to prove his worth of a roster spot. It's truly a shame cause he's probably a good dude but can't get out of his own way. The 3 teams you proposed wouldn't surprise me with a low end trade at the deadline.

The $325 million man's MLB debut didn't go so hot. Only lasted one inning and got rocked for 5 runs on 43 pitches. But, Mookie Betts is on pace for 81 homeruns and 567 RBI this year. That's pretty good.

Salk once again kissing the Mariners azz … Saying the M’s are building a long sustaining competitive team, going all in isn’t necessarily good .. LoL GTFO .. M’s got cheap and we all know it, it’s what this franchise does and always has … 0 World Series appearances ! The sustainable competitive team excuse we’ve heard for decades…

A little early to say, but between Raley and Canzone, so far who would you want?
Canzone… not really fan of either to be honest, but never was really a fan of Raley

It's time to resurrect this thread. They gave us a good tease in May and early June but the offense has since settled back to preseason expectations.

83-79. Third place in the West, 5 games out of the wild card.
At this point, I'm no longer confident they can even finish above .500
Julio will flirt with a 40-40 season and finish top 3 in the MVP.
This one didn't age well.
Polanco will be the latest acquisition to see a drop off in his expected production.
This one did.
Haniger will play in less than 100 games but strike out more than 100 times.
I was half right.
Cal Raleigh will be selected for his first All-Star game
Shoulda been.
The guy who leads the bullpen in saves may not be on our roster yet, but either way, it won't be Munoz.
This one didn't age well.
Love JP, but I don't see how he can possibly top last year's productivity.
JP had his career year last year. He'll never approach those numbers again.
At least one starting pitcher in the depth chart will have to be shut down early in the year, for the entire year.
It wasn't the entire year but we've only gotten 7 starts from Woo.
Our LF and RF production will be far below league average.
Yep
Ty France's potential will continue to remain an enigma.
Yep
Raleigh and Gilbert won't get traded at the deadline, but Garver and Polanco might, and rumors surrounding all four will be a constant source of the talking heads' feeder from June 15th to July 31st.
Well, the mirage that is our current playoff bid kinda shot that theory to hell.
Oh yeah - one more note:
Jerry and Scott get extended. Sorry. The owners aren't going to fix something that isn't broken...for them.
I'd love to be wrong. I'd hate to see all this young talent wasted on those two and stingy, greedy owners.

Mariners will be in 3rd place by end of August yet no one will be fired.
When Scherzer and Jon Gray shake the rust off from their DL stints, and deGrom comes back, the Rangers should have no problem catching and passing the Mariners. They are currently 5 games behind us and there are 36 games between now and the end of August. Yep, I think you are right. I wonder when the Angels catch us?

Mariners hit their high water mark of 13 games over .500 on June 18th when they were 44-31.
Since then they have gone 8-17 over 25 games for a winning percentage of .320.
If they maintained that winning percentage over the remainder of the season, they would go 20-42 over the final 62 games and finish the season with a record of 72-90.
And nobody would get fired except for some random lower coaching position scapegoats.

Probably tie LAA for 3rd to end the season.

Can you imagine going 28-59 over the last 87 games after having a 10-game lead on June 18th, and neither the GM nor the head coach gets fired? Well, yes. If you are a Mariner fan you probably can imagine that.

If that happened then any fan who attends next years games should be egged thrown to the octopus.
