Yet his worshipers want to put him in the GOAT discussion. It's beyond ridiculous.

He's top 4 presently but never in convo for GOAT mix. He is better than a Favre who played 20 years to set records in everything esp int with only 1 ring. I'm happy for him and esp Saints fans to get a Lombardi after a long time. I suffered through 30 years of Pats sucking to finally winning, so I felt their pain

It's a different game now. Post 2000 QB's almost deserve an asterisk.

Did you see our defense before Rob Ryan got there?!? You are very illogical when it comes to Drew Brees. The 1 year our defense was somewhat good in the SP era was the year we won the SB...and even then we relied on turnovers more than the defense being really good. You talk about well if the Chargers didn't have the worst defense.....well guess what, we had the worst defense in the HISTORY OF THE NFL last year.

If you want to use a team accomplishment as Brady being better, than 1-0 as a team in the superbowl is 100% win. 3-2 is 66%, therefore the Patriots are not as good...aka Brees > Brady. Thanks for letting me use your own logic as why Brees is better. We can stir this around anyway you like to get a desired result. So who is better: John Elway or Tom Brady? Why? If you choose Brady it's because he's 3-2 in the big game even though the Patriots defense won all 3 of those games, not Brady. If you have to relate to team accomplishments to prove ONE player is the best, then you have some issues.

I'd looooooove to sit here and argue that Brees is better than Tom Brady but he's not. The Brees camp is almost as irrational and emotional as the Favre people.

As for Brady, I have the HIGHEST respect for him. As for debating who's better, if you want to take Brady then that's fine.....but it's hard to debate individuals based on team accomplishments. Brady is a HUGE part of those SB's...but how far does he get if that defense didn't rough up those Colts recievers year in and year out? Brees was a huge part of our SB win....but how far does he get if Tracy Porter doesn't pick off Favre and Manning? It's a team thing

The best of the best. If you can't be reasonably called the best in the game, you aren't elite. Rodgers is tough to compare to Brady/manning, but there's an argument there, so he gets it. Rodgers is still head and shoulders above Brees and you can't make a real argument Brees is even better than him.

I disagree. An argument can be made, as to who anyone wants to take, and it's fair to go either way. Rodgers had an awesome year(the mvp year), and a really good year after that. He's amongst the elite, but he isn't head and shoulders better than Brees imo.

If your definition relies solely upon passing yrds and a SB ring won by the best defense since da Bears, Brees is elite. IMO, a 5' 9" gunslinging system QB like Brees is not Elite. Like I said, plug a prototypical QB into that system, say Rivers, and he has more yards then Manning and Brady combined.
