Drew Brees is a system QB. He's a product of a superb system that demands he
work out of the shotgun on 95% of snaps. Plug someone like Flacco or Ryan into
that system and they'd be true elites, threatening to enter the Peyton Manning
realm. Hell, Tebow would look good in that system

I do agree that maybe somewhat its possible to be a system QB in college. But in the pro's you can either hang or you cant. I don't know how great he is but Brees is legit no matter how you try to bent it.

Brees all day long. IMO Brett Favre was the most overrated athlete of our generation not named Cal Ripken.

Kaepernick is overrated.

Favre owns many records/high ranking career stats = not overrated.

If your definition relies solely upon passing yrds and a SB ring won by the best defense since da Bears, Brees is elite. IMO, a 5' 9" gunslinging system QB like Brees is not Elite. Like I said, plug a prototypical QB into that system, say Rivers, and he has more yards then Manning and Brady combined.

Brees has confidence and experience which is invaluable. But if I'm a GM choosing one QB to win with next season, I pick Foles all damn day.

How do you differentiate between what makes someone a system QB and a good QB? Why isn't Foles a system QB? I think a large part of his success is due to Chip Kelly. I think Foles could put up good numbers in New Orleans but I also think Brees would thrive under Kelly.

Question, since Matt Cassel went 11-5 in New England that year, what does that say about Brady? Or since Matt Flynn had that 500 yard, 6 TD game, what does that say about Rodgers? Imo, it says nothing..but going by your logic...

What I don't understand is you keep bringing his height in the equation. That is a disadvantage, he throws on his tiptoes. Doesn't that make him less overrated and the position more difficult to play.

I agree you can't just base a QB on yards and rings, but how bout passer rating?

Brees is #7 ALL-TIME in career passer rating

This year he is #5.
