Well just because we have the resources doesn't mean we should just go on a spending frenzy, look how well that has gone for the Angels....I think we all feel Choo is our biggest need, Tanaka would be more of a luxury unless JD has something preliminary with a team to get a bat for one of our pitchers if we do get Tanaka and now choo

The Angels spent money on a player on the backside of his career and in top of that made it a 10 year deal and $25 mill a year for a playere who has mentall issues plus the high cost of a bust in Vernon Wells. I did not see spending money on Choo and Tanaka as us doing what the Angels did.

Just read that. Getting less hopeful for signing Choo as Terps tells us his friend still thinks we will. But maybe no one else will hit that salary the Yankees offered so who knows. Really think now this will be a lengthy holdout anyway.

Maybe he did not want to play for NY. We can hope for that possibility. If he wants more than that then I say adios. I am not real crazy about the 7 years to begin with more than the $20 mill a year.

Hey if he can get more then in all honesty more power to him. I don't blame him either.

Thanks scotsman. I knew someone would take it that way. Any previous posts of mine have never stated that we should be fiscally irresponsible. It was you saw it as a statement that we could go after both of those players and we would be in good shape not for just this year but years to come with just minor tweaking needed here and there.

not a problem, i also have said this numerous times and have also been accused of being fiscally irresponsible.

Just a question I had about draft pick compensation. So I know the Rangers would lose their first round pick if we got Choo, but if another team signs Cruz then we get a pick in the sandwich round. What I'm wondering is if we signed Morales who also has a draft pick attached to him, would we then lose our second round pick or the sandwich pick we received from Cruz?

Its all so confusing, b/c it depends on records, who signed who first and all that

I'm 2nd on calling bs no way!

This is definitely something Boras would do to try and make it seem like what they're asking is reasonable. I wonder who he's trying to fool though, JD and Luhnow are too smart to fall for something like this.

Has anyone besides me gotten sick of Choo and Boras?

I am right there with you DT. I have become apathetic about the whole thing. To the point of let's look elsewhere if this nonsense keeps up.
