I actually think he's a better outfielder than Cruz is, you just need to keep him in the corner outfield because that's where he's best suited as. We also have Rios at RF who's a much superior defender to Cruz, so if we get Cruz back I think we DH him.

I think we need to add another power bat from the line-up I wrote up as well, but if Fielder really does refuse to DH often, as I've heard, then where does that player play bc our OF would be pretty full...unless that other player would DH...like maybe Adam Dunn?

He all but refused to DH in Detroit. But maybe this subject has already been approached and he's more open to it now.

Adam Dunn would so make me crazy with all those SO. But despite his lowly avg and the Ks, he still drives in a good amount of runs.

I've met JD at Hibachi97 in Arlington. I told him to make sure to lock up Josh. That was before Josh had that terrible second half. I'm glad he didn't listen.

I'm gonna say no on Dunn the dude doesn't get on base enough to justify his high strike out totals, he has power sure but I'm not giving up anything significant for a guy who's going to be making 15 million this year.

If Fielder is going to stay at 1B then we might talk to the Royals about Billy Butler, he's not as powerful as Cruz or Dunn but he's got a good Batting average and pretty solid OBP. He's also under contract for the next 2 seasons at a fairly reasonable price.

Yeah I know he still wants to play in the outfield, but the only good thing about his defense anymore is his arm and that doesn't really offset everything else that's bad about his defense.

He made some nice plays last year but he makes you nervous anytime the ball is hit his way or if he has to run straight back towards the wall.

I just honestly don't think that anyone they sign will help. I think they could have gone out this offseason and got cano, mcCann, Choo, AND a top FA pitcher and they still wouldn't compete for a few years, so you might as well swallow your pride and take one or two more years of close to top picks before even being a player during the offseason

The difference between getting cruz and choo (besides $ obviously) is that we really need an established leadoff hitter. Sure, nelly will drive in runs, but how often is leonys gonna be on base for that opportunity anyway? And choo is better defensively, but from what I've heard from the scouts, the margin between choos d and nelly's is not as much as you think
