I think it's a safe bet that if they were to get Tanaka that Perez or Holland could procure a DH or COF.

Oh ya for sure in all likelihood yes. Getting Tanaka would not only make your starting rotation more scary but it adds extra piece that gives you the ability to maneuver around and make trades. Great thing is that all the pitchers we have are super contract friendly so if they decided on keeping a super staff it wouldn't be the worst idea IMO.

Another interesting thought would be trading Harrison. There is no telling how he will come off of that injury and he might have more value now than he ever will since it is still an unknown. But then again, he probably has the least trade value out of the group because of this too.

If he doesn't get an offer he likes I don't see why he or Boris would be in any rush to make a decision. I sure hope he does though because if he doesn't Cruz could come off the board and then if Choo goes somewhere else we would be left high and dry- likely with a rookie starting in LF.

Angels seem like they are really pushing for pitching this offseason. If they could get a rotation behind them and if Hamilton and Pujols bounce back... they could be a very scary team. In fact, with the moves the M's are making the West could be pretty competitive. I still think the M's would need a little more though, not sure just Hart and Cano can put them over the top. Not to mention, they have traded away a lot of there good end of the rotation pitching. Beyond Felix and Iwakuma, they don't have too much. Really, I can see them signing Cano doing about the same thing for them as signing Arod did for us.

lololololol why.

Well, if he ends up whoring himself to the extent of signing with the dis-Astros then he deserves whatever happens to him for the rest of his career.

Mind you this is all Steamer's projected WAR, but people saying the Angels and A's and Mariners are passing the Rangers read this. (borrowed from Brad at LSB)

What a horrible mess that turned out to be...I should have made an image of that.

I will still take terps' source over one GM's thoughts. Hopefully something happens today- i'm tired of being stuck in limbo about all of this

lol no way in hell he lands with the astros. That would be incredibly stupid. They are 5 years away from competing, there is no point in shelling out 130 million dollars to a dude that wont even matter anymore when they are good. They're best bet is to sign popular names at short term deals just to fill the seats and get jersey sales
