He seems to a rather large gamble to me regardless.

Kemp was an amazingly durable and productive guy for his career, until the last year+. But now....like you said, who knows? Hopefully the Rangers do if their seriously considering the trade.

Couldn't play for shit? He had a 3 year stretch where he put up better than replacement value. He wasn't a horrible player, but it wasn't his primary focus at all. And he was doing this all in under 100 games a year but once.
