I think people take Sherman way too seriously. He freely admits that most of it is to get under the skin of opponents and if you listen closely, there is a lot of tongue-in-cheek sarcasm involved. Having said that, it's easy to see why opposing fans and players don't like it. The thing is, he backs it up on the field and plays in the best defensive backfield in the game. Every player around him is good and the D-line/ front get after the QB. One thing about Sunday's game, SF really missed Crabtree. Not sure if Kaep would have had time to find him but the Niners had no real threat downfield. Sherman is as good as anybody in the game and so far, they haven't even got Browner and Clemons back yet. This defense could be dominant and shut down anybody.

Is it because, they are insecure with low self esteem and it strikes a nerve? Personally, I love to play against guys who talk smack. It makes it more fun to ball on them and shut their mouth with my play. MJ was the biggest smack talker in sports, supposedly? I watched an interview with Barkley who stated, Jordan would talk about yo momma!, but I guess thats ok and classy because its Jordan? right?

I would rather judge a person by their actions instead of their words. I can see if he did things like Suh, then you would have a case that it translates to who he is outside of the game of football.

Talking shit on the field is part of the game. Talking shit OFF the field, is part of WWF wrestling.

The thing about sherm is he has a HUGE chip on his shoulder.

He was a 5th round draft pick....

He plays way out in south alaska.....if he played in new york he wouldnt have to talk to get coverage. but since he's in seattle nobody mentions him or his team. I mean can you IMAGINE if Dallas or NYG beat SF the way Sea did?????

He puts in untold hours working on his craft and studying film.

He wants respect.....

And for the guy who asked why his dad isn't retired... Google 5th round draft pick salary. I assume he makes basically league minimum.

As for the ignorant pundants.... I watched all three morning shows CBS FOX and ESPN. just worked out with the commercials. 75% of the "experts" picked SF. Whats wrong with Sherm calling out the talking heads?

IDK why anyone has a problem with that. The redundancy of 'ignorant idiots' will be made fun by the grammar police, but the actual outrage against him for calling them out is ridiculous. Haven't we all at some point wanted a pundit to be held accountable for his bad prediction or poor research? A lot of hypocrisy in that one.

Nope, it's classless, period. Sure a little one on one jawing might happen after a big score or huge first down but every play that you're involved in? Maybe you and him are just one in the same?

Or maybe you're just too sensitive and should learn to stop being so thin-skinned about things other people do.

You seem to care an awful lot about this when you should be more worried about your own team's problems. A RB with what, 16 yards Sunday? A QB with 3 picks and a 14 QBR?

You really want to shut Richard Sherman up? Beat him. Until you do that, you have no leg to stand on.

I don't like that either. You Seachicks are getting a little too sensitive about this yourselves. I don't like it period. If he were doing it on another team I still wouldn't like it. He's a very good corner with a mouth that never stops.

I guess maybe its a cultural thing. I didn't grow up in Compton. Maybe that's the difference.

How are we being sensitive? We love Richard Sherman. He's also on our team so it makes sense for us to talk about him. When you can't mention him without some 9er fan coming in bitching about his trash talk, you know he's hit a nerve.

You guys are obsessed

That's my point, I'm not talking about this because he is a Seahawk player. You guys just can't get that out of your head. I don't like his behavior. That's all there is to it.

So let me see if I get this right. You believe anyone who cares what Skip Bayless says is too stupid to know he is trolling hard, and yet don't get what Sherman is doing. Is that right?

His mouth has landed him a lot of commercials and endorsements. It's a money thing man. Ever seen anything from him when he isn't acting like that? He is actually quite funny and does a lot of charity work. How do you people not get that it's an act? A bad one, but one none the less.

He got trolled by Skip Bayless and it was funny to see. They deserve each other. On a side note, I did watch an interview with him on NFL Network and he seemed much more humble, even likable.

it's all an act. I don't care for it myself, but if he can earn a ton more cash doing that garbage I can see why he does it. I'd rather he kept the trash talking to the field and turned it off after the game.

No, Cortland Finnegan is not better than Richard Sherman. You're high if you think he's a classy CB.

You wanna talk about old school? How about backing up what you say like Sherman does? Old school football players wouldn't bitch and whine about Sherman. They'd beat him to shut him up. I don't see anyone beating him so he's free to say what he wants.

I think you missed his point. He is saying Sherman is like Finnegan as far as trash talk but a better overall cb.

If Sherman was on another team, the Hawks fans would be calling him a loudmouth just the same. It's called being a biased fan......which we all are.

That is why I will repeat what I said earlier. For my money, I would take Patrick Peterson because he brings more to the table than just a shut down corner. Returns punts, catches passes, throws passes, lines up in the back field, etc. Oh yea and he is likeable off the field. He truly lets his play do the talking.

Not really because i find him funny,Deon's antics were just kinda dumb and so was TO's now Harrison he talks some smack and backs it up most of time in the past but he is getting old.

Plus Sherman is young like most of these guys.

What you call funny I call annoying. I like the "act like you've been there before" guys myself. And of course I can't be sure about how you would feel if he was on another team. However, something tells me if he was wearing a niner jersey, flapping his gums all the time, you might have a different opinion.
