Richard Sherman is the NFL's best CB (Yes, better than Revis)

Sherman is a badass on the field. Off the field, he just needs to shut up.

I'll take Tillman as a representative of my team. Not as good in coverage, but a better leader, and just a great all-around guy.

Peanut is what young players should model themselves after.
No, he actually doesn't. That's the beauty of it. He can say anything he wants to whomever he wants because he backs it up on the field. In addition, he's also using that smack talk to get under the skin of people and it helps. Did you see how Anquan Boldin thought he was a WWE wrestler at times last night because he couldn't beat Sherman on the field? He just started grabbing and pushing as he would as a blocking WR in a run play while they were in passing plays.

What Sherman does is brilliant and the fact that you don't like it isn't a reason for him to stop. :bawling:

Whether he talks or not is completely irrelevant to the topic of this thread. He is the best cornerback in the NFL and he proves that with his work on the field. The talk is all extra and has no bearing on his status as far as CBs go.

You're right, but it says a lot about who he is as a man, and whether you believe it or not, most of the time, that translates onto the field, eventually.

He will gain even more respect and accolades, if he just shuts up, and continues to "put up".

Strange complaint coming from you. I thought the general board was for posters wearing their big boy pants.

49er nation is still attempting to pull up it's pampers after what Pete Carroll and the Seahawks did to them last night on national tv.

That sounds like insecurity.

Real men don't have to tell everybody about it.

Boldin's frustrations had nothing to do with Sherman's mouth. The only thing that got in Boldin's head, was the fact he was getting whooped. His mouth had nothing to do with that.

Go to the Hawks forum and watch Bayless eat crow on Sherman.

Dude's a stud, but the brash, in-your-face "self-marketing", only tarnishes the player in the long run. As a stud player, do you want to be remembered for your play, or you persona?

Yeah, you're right. Football players, especially cornerbacks who are brash and in-your-face are never remembered for their play. They merely become nobodies with tarnished careers in the long run

Peterson brings up an interesting discussion mostly because of his ability to impact the return game along with creating turnovers but I don't think his coverage is at the level of Sherman's.

Patrick Peterson is pretty overlooked because of the team he plays on though.
Let's not forget he caught a pass a 17 yard pass and threw a 17 yard strike in the game against Detroit. In terms of cover skills I give Sherman the nod for now. But in terms of the overall package Peterson is my guy.
