Rotoworld:

According to NFL Network's Daniel Jeremiah, "everybody" in the league has Florida DT Sharrif Floyd graded as a top-five player in the 2013 draft.

The guy was being ranked in the 20 through early/late December. Now top five??? Crazy. I always liked him as a potential 3-4 end, and thought he would be a steal at that spot - but with all that said i don't see a top 5 product in Floyd. I'd be upset if we had top five and a team selected him.

Confirmed today what I've heard since October; LSU coaches not giving Sam Montgomery/DE/LSU are rining endorsement. Quite the contrary

A guard for Philly at No. 4?
February, 22, 2013 4:44PM ET
By Tim Kavanagh | ESPN.com

It's a debate that rages every draft season -- should a team drafting in the Top 10 prefer taking a possible superstar at a high-profile position, or should they go with a player at a less illustrious position who'll be a reliable 10-year starter? It's come up again this year in regards to Alabama OG Chance Warmack, who some draft analysts believe is not only the best offensive lineman available in this year's crop, but perhaps even the best overall prospect. And there's now an argument for the Philadelphia Eagles taking him at No. 4 overall.

As Paul Domowitch of the Philadelphia Daily News writes, the Eagles have one vacancy on the offensive line: right guard. C Jason Kelce, as well as OTs Jason Peters and Todd Herremans will be returning from injury, and LG Evan Mathis is coming off a strong campaign. The RG slot should belong to former first-rounder Danny Watkins, but Watkins has yet to show that he's capable of starting at the NFL level.

Enter Warmack? It's a possible scenario, one of a handful of prospects that could have their name called by Roger Goodell as the first draft pick of the Chip Kelly era (some of the other possibilities include OTs Luke Joeckel and Eric Fisher, CB Dee Milliner and DT Star Lotulelei). While taking an OG there isn't going to push the needle for particular cohorts of the fanbase, it's the kind of decision that can pay off substantially for the long-term.

Tennessee WR Cordarrelle Patterson measured in at 6'1 and 7/8 inches and 216 pounds at the NFL Combine.

Although shorter than his listed measurements, there is nothing wrong with these numbers. Patterson is expected to light up workouts, but he does need to show comfort hands catching passes through the gauntlet. We like him as a smaller, less physically imposing version of Julio Jones.

This guy can't admit he's wrong. He doesn't look compare to Julio on tape and he doesn't literally measure up to him. Patterson isn't physically imposing at all; you take Jones' ability to impose his will on DB's you'd end up with something that's distant from what we perceive Julio as today.

I like to think of myself as a shorter, less athletic, not as wealthy or popular, can't dribble with my left hand very well, 25% free throw shooting, 22 inch vertical leap version of Lebron James.

Crap. Cooper killed in the bench press. It's not looking good to see him in red & gold.

35 inch arms for Khaled Holmes. Very nice, but only 17 rep's. My biggest question with him has always been brute strength. He plays smart & gets into the 2nd level well. Uses his hands well; but he doesn't get a great push & even gets pushed into the backfield by stronger DL.

Not that bench press means all that much for an OL; they really should be doing squats instead.

Wonder how long he'll last...

Correction: Holmes only had 13 rep's. Ouch. That could put him in the 4th or 5th round.

Citing a league source, Profootballtalk.com reports Georgia OLB Jarvis Jones' neck injury (spinal stenosis) is causing "multiple teams" to shy away from him, particularly in round one.
PFT reports Jones is being removed from draft boards, ostensibly after Combine medical exams confirmed the stenosis. Jones received a clean bill of health at Georgia and dominated the SEC, but he's opted out of Combine drills and "multiple teams" have "already decided to avoid him." We witnessed a similar situation in the 2011 draft. Widely expected to be a top-ten pick, Da'Quan Bowers slipped all the way to Bucs' second-round selection (No. 51).

So I'm not the only one.

Florida State DE Bjoern Werner measured 6-foot-3 1/4 and 266 pounds at Saturday's NFL Combine weigh-in.
Often compared to Chris Long -- both are 4-3 left ends -- Werner weighed in at the exact same height as the Rams' star pass rusher and just six pounds lighter. Opinions of late have seemed more mixed on Werner, with NFL Network's Mike Mayock and Daniel Jeremiah both calling him unworthy of a top-ten pick.

Very interesting. Doesn't look like he will drop that much.

Florida State DE Tank Carradine (ACL surgery) measured 6-foot-4 1/8 and 276 pounds at Saturday's Combine weigh-in.
Carradine's college listing was 6-foot-5, 251, so he's stouter than expected. Before tearing the ACL last November, Carradine posted 13 tackles for loss, 11 sacks, and a team-high 20 QB hurries (more than Bjoern Werner) in 11 games. Medical checks will determine whether Carradine still has a shot at the first round.

Matthew Fairburn:

Sam Montgomery told me he didn't try as hard when LSU was playing lesser competition. But when they played the Bamas he was ready to go.

So far, here are a few players the Niners can kiss goodbye without a trade up IMO:

Tyler Eifert. He's going to go in the top 25 IMO.
Jonathan Cooper. And this one makes me extremely sad & also tempted to trade up.
Ezekiel Ansah. 6'5, 271 & huge arms; he'd have to tear an ACL running the 40 to drop to 31 IMO. I wouldn't trade up for him though; too big of a risk IMO.

Some players who might be within reach (either with a trade up or not):

Jarvis Jones. Teams are worried about his neck. Could you imagine the Niners' pass-rush with him on the team? Keep him as a situational pass-rusher. I'd be all for it.

Keenan Allen. Not running at the combine is going to hurt him a lot.

Zach Ertz. Mid 2nd round now IMO. Maybe early 3rd. Not that interested, but if Walker leaves the Niners will need another TE.

Hey Clyde, are you coming over to my side on the Eifert VS Ertz thing now that Eifert killed him at the combine, or are you going down with the ship like with Orakpo VS Everette Brown?
