Now I have to do some thinking. I always vote one pitcher (Grove now), and Ohtani, and a hitter. With Foxx off the board I’m deciding between a few hitters. What do you guys think?

Robinson and ARod jump out at me, is it time to start on Griffey? Time to start stumping for Berra or Bench? Trout? Lajoie? Ripken?

Trout and Robinson and Ott are all above Griffey, imho.

if you decide to include ARod, you are WAY late to that party.

I'm going with Trout (of course) but I think Eddie Collins, Alex Rodriguez, Mel Ott, Nap Lajoie and Frank Robinson are all good votes at this point.

Especially if you remove ARod, just posted about this.

Grove feels like he will land at 23
I am not certain he has the legs to beat CY. One of the most overrated pitchers of all time (he is still an absolute stud, don’t get me wrong) vs one of the most underrated pitchers of all time.

The name recognition votes will probably carry CY you’re right. But it’s all valid and interesting to me

And when is it time to give the catchers a positional boost? Their hitting numbers will not compare to even lesser tier OFs but does being elite at defense at the most important position count enough? Does best ever catcher mean something? All those rings for Berra?

And Cy over Lefty woukd not be a travesty. Afterall, IP and career wins are probably the most important stats for SPs.

I am a Bench guy, but I can get behind Berra if that is where the board is at.

But I think it is WAY late for catchers. But when I look at the players on the board, I can’t complain too much. Who should be removed in favor of Bench/Berra?

I have Ott, Robinson and Morgan in the same grouping

AROD if it wasnt for the stigma would easily be a top 15... probably top 10...

after the Ott, Morgan, Robinson tier... thats the Trout, Griffey tier...

Let's not forget Yaz...

96.5 WAR - 130 OPS+ - 452 HR - 1,844 RBI - MVP - Gold Gloves....

Maybe not Rodriguez or Robinson, but certainly better that a lot of the others....
He is almost in discussion territory. He MAY be top 30, imho.

Quite a few guys need to be added before him, though.

yaz is in the trout, griffey tier...

also an interesting one though... he had that ONE season of SPECIAL... so maybe boost him to the Ott, Robinson, Morgan tier...
